It’s with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elder Henry Morang’a Obonyo. (formerly of the Kenya Bureau of Standards), who passed away on August 29, 2025.

He was the son of the late Jackson Obonyo Moronge and Mama Yunes Nyangweso Obonyo.

He was a loving husband of Margaret Turungi, a doting father of Christine Monchari, Kennedy Tirimba, Angeline Bitutu, Immaculate Nyangweso, Eric Turungi, Agnes Biyaki, and Lucia Mogoi, a grandfather of Rael Bonareri, and father-in-law of Julian Fontaine.

Brother of Hezekiel, Kwarnboka, Kemunto, Onwong’a, Moraa, the late Tenesias, Nyang’au, Moronge, the late Ouko, Maturu, Kabuka, Onguti, and Bosibori.

Uncle of Moronge, Monchari, Tirimbas, Gikenyi, Denis. Clive, Jemima, Collins, Grace, Nyangwesos, Obonyos, among others.

He was the brother-in-law of Thakane, Yosabia, the late Oigoro, Ochako, Maria, Prisca, Misati, Juliana, Everlyne, Mary, Kemuma, Kerubo, Obiri, Dominic, Late Onyancha, Nyang’ate, Hezron,Theophas.

He was the nephew of the late Samuel, Mzee Ongeri, Gilbert, late Ochwang’i, Mokaya, the late Nyamori, Meshack, Ombaki, Bonuke, late Mogute, Sibia, and the late Teresa, among others.

He was a cousin of Machogu Ombaki, Peter Ongeri, the Mwebis, and Nyangichas. Nyauntus, Ondieks, Machukis, among others.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home on Thursday, 11th September 2025, at 8.00am for Kisii home, and burial will take place on 12th September 2025 at Mogweko Village, Nyaribari Masaba Constituency.

It is with deep sadness that the Echessah Family announces the death of Cynthia Khadudu Echessah the Director of St Phaustina junior Academy KItengela that occurred on 5/9/2025 after a short illness.

She is the daughter of the late Francis Khadudu Were and the late Hilda Mbeba Were.

Loving wife to Protase Echessah, cherished mother to Teddy, Wendy and Bakhita Echessah.

Daughter in-law of the late Gabriel Echessah Opongo and the late Florence Email.

Sister to Thomas, Dr. Eugene, Bertha, Janet, Augustine, Esther and Titus.

Sister in-law to Seraphine, Benard, Jacinta, Colletta, Peter, Gerald, Maximillia and Brenda Echessah, Edith, Hawa, Tom, Mary, Patson and Cindy.

Funeral arrangements are ongoing at both her home in Akila Phase I Estate in Nairobi and Vesba Eating House Development, Mezzanine Floor along Mai Avenue from 5.30pm.

There will be a fundraising at All Saints Cathedral on 15/9/ 2025 from 5.00pm.

A Requiem Mass will be held at the Don Bosco Shrine on 17/9/ 2025 at 2.00pm.

It is with profound sorrow and acceptance of Gods will that we announce the passing-on of our beloved Georgina Temba Mubisi (JoJo) who rested on Thursday, 4th September 2025, after a courageous battle with Lupus SLE.

Jojo is a cherished daughter of Jane Ternba and Martin Mubisi, a treasured granddaughter of Alice and the late Joseph Temba and Hendrica and Dr. Anthony Mubisi of Busia County.

She was a loving sister of Steffi Ternba. Sister-in-law of Austin Mwariri. Doting aunt of Ray Karimi and a precious niece and cousin to the wider Mubisi and Temba families.

Her radiant spirit, warm heart and enduring courage touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Meetings are currently being held at Cornerstone Estate,Kenyatta Road and at the Mubisi family home in Busia Town.

A Harambee to offset the medical bill will take place today Thursday, 11th September at All Saints Cathedral from 5:30 p.m.

A memorial service in her honour will be held on Thursday, 18th September 2025 at Thika Road Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The cortege leaves Georgina Temba Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home on Friday, 19th September 2025, for an overnight vigil at her home in Busia. The funeral service will be held at FTC Busia on Saturday 20th September 2025 from 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at the family home in Lukonyi, Busia Township.

Jojo fought with grace and lived fully. Though she has departed from us, her memory and light will forever remain in our hearts.

The immediate Akelo family, the wider K’Omolo clan of Kanyidoto, Homa Bay, her children and grandchildren have lost a respected and beloved Matriarch in Gladys Damaris Aluoch, who passed away on the 10th of August 2025 in Nairobi following battle with cancer.

She was born of the late Philip Akelo and the late Jerusha Akumu, and was preceded in death by her siblings David Odhiambo, Rose Omolo, Nereah Ajwang, Benjamin Abila and Johnson Opundo. Her surviving siblings are Jedidiah Olale, Isabelle Rakiro and Dr. Otieno E. Omolo.

Gladys was mother of the late Betty Achieng’, Robert Ondhowe and Shamila Unnikrishnan, the late Roy Omondi Ondhowe, Maureen Achieng’ and the late Anthony Otieno Ondhowe. Grandmother of Tony Otieno, Wema Amondi, Lyla Ayaga and Shiv Sure.

She was aunty to many nieces and nephews, including the Odhiambo family of Lambwe, George Owiti and Grace Kamasara, Agnes Okoth and Epaineto Otieno, Dennis Kabila, the Rakiros, Samson Okumu, and Dr. Daniel Nyamai.

She was a beloved great aunty and grandmother to many others. Friend and mentor to scores.

A memorial service will be held at her home in RIAT Hills on the 28th of September 2025 starting from 1300, during which her remains will be laid to rest.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Engineer Kevin Mutua Nzioki.

He was a beloved son of Dr/FCPA Boniface Nzioki Mutua (Rwanda) and Florence Mwongeli Nzioki (NSSF) and brother of Betty Syokau Nzioki.

Kevin was grandson of Gregory Ngao and the late Teresia Ngao; and the late R.A.M. Kieti and Beth Kieti.

Kevin was nephew of Cyrus and Winnie Nzyuko, Scola, Victoria and Erickson Mutinda, Victor and Rose Ndolo, Rosalia and Ernest Mwangi, Caroline and Moses Wambua, Peter Mutua, Dr. Dave and Christine Okech (USA), the late Robert Kieti, Gerry and the late Irene Waka.

He was cousin of Terry, Susan and Rose Kimundu; Teresia and Peter Mutinda; Teresia and Catherine Mwangi; Ted and Brian Ndolo, Teresia Mwongeli; Elise and Amanda Ochieng; Jair and Eliora Waka; Betty, Elias, Aggie and Peter Ngao; and many others.

Kevin was uncle of Zoe and Zac Kyalo.

Family and friends are meeting daily in Nyayo Estate, Embakasi at their home from 7.00 PM. and at their rural home, Kiwanza Village, Myanyani Sub-location, Mwala location, Mwala Sub-county, Machakos County.

The memorial service will take place at The River of God (ROG) Church in Parklands, on Wednesday, 10th September 2025 from 2.00 P.M. to 4.00 P.M.

The burial will be on Friday, 12th September 2025 at their rural home.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Wilson Mwangi Karuri of Maganjo Village, Muranga County.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret Waithira and a devoted father of Emma Wangeci, Stella Wanjiku, Dennis Karuri, Timothy Charles Gatimu, and Millicent Waithira Njeri.

Wilson was the son of the late David Mwangi (Karuri) and the late Milkah Waithira.

He was also the son-in-law of the late Charles Gichia Muchira and the late Esther Wanjiku.

He was a cherished brother of the late Henry Maina and Grace Waithira, the late Nelius Wanjiru, Francis Mucoya and Lucy Wangare, the late Beatrice Nduta, the late Stanley Wanderi and the late Rose Wanjiku, Jane Waruiru and Julius Maina, the late Esther Njeri, Keziah Waruinu and Jeremiah Njoroge, and Catherine Njeri.

Funeral Arrangements: A fellowship will be held in his honor on Saturday, 13th September, 2025, at 4:00 PM at his home in Doonholm, Sunrise Phase I .

The funeral service and burial will take place on Wednesday, 17th September, 2025. The cortege leave KU Referral Memorial Funeral Home along the Northern Bypass at 8:00AM for his final resting place at his rural home in MaganjoVil4ge, Murarandia Ward, Kiharu Constituency, Kahuro Sub-county, Muranga County.

He was the spouse of Hon. Catherine Muia (Machakos County Assembly). Father & Mentor of Irene Mbuvi, Advocate, Dickson Mbuvi, Harrison Mbuvi and Victoria Mbuvi. Doting grandfather of Anella, Zenani, Adrielle,Asher, Scully, Silver, Sanchia, Raphael, Japheth, Marion, Michelle, Zani, Ezra, Amari, Raheim and Saviana.

Brother of Michael Musembi,Anthony Muisyo, Jane Munyoki, Catherine Nitta, Moses Nzivo and the late Florence Itumbi.

Brother-in-law of the late Fred Munyoki and Tarcisius Nitta, Brother-in-law of Terry, Josphine, Janet and Dorothy. Father-in-law of Eston Mwangi, Teresia Kitonga and Anastasia Maende.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Mzee Naftali Njeru Waithanje which occurred on Thursday the 4th September 2025 after a long illness.

Naftali was the beloved son of the late Shadrack Waithanje and the late Eunice Karimi.

He was the loving husband of Jena Ciumwari. He was the devoted father of Margaret Muthoni, Eunice Wanja and Mureithi Kibe, Antony Muriithi and Mary Kiende, Susan Muthanje and Moffat Kariuki, Rose Njoki, John Ndwiga and Wangui Githinji and Anderson Gitonga.

He was the dear brother of Gladwell, the late Daniel, Esther, Zabedi, Agatha, the late jeridia, Harry Karugu and Muriuki.

He was the loving grandfather of Kevin Murithi, Arnold Mutugi.Tony Munene, Daniel Kibe, Dr. Eric Ngare, Thomas Kibe, Grace Kibe, Gloria Kinya, Brenda Wawira. Jayden Munene, Stacy Nyakio, Melany Wendo, Kelsey Katheu, Kylan Njeru, Fernandes Njeru, Vernice Nyaguthie and Jean Pendo. He was a great grandfather to many. Naftali was an uncle, cousin, friend, relative and mentor to many.

He will be fondly remembered for his generosity, his unwavering love for his family and dedicated service to the church and the community.

Family and friends are meeting daily from 4.00pm for prayers and funeral arrangements at his home in Gitare Village, Embu-East Sub-County, Embu County.

The cortege will leave Gakwegori Funeral Home on Saturday 13th September 2025 at 8,00am for the funeral service at Gitare Primary School. Thereafter, he will be laid to rest at his home in Gitare Village.

Wife of the late Charles Wambugu Goro, mother of Catherine Wangui, Evans Goro, Victoria Goro, Betty Wangu and Anne Wanjiru Wambugu; daughter of the late Robinson Mumenya Gikuhi and the late Bernice Wangu Mumenya. Grandmother of Joseph Ndungu Mural, Kwame Njenga Mwaura, Mitchelle Kamene Goro, Brian Wambugu Goro, Shaka Wambugu Mwaura and Natasha Wangui Goro. Sister to four loving sisters, four brothers. Auntie to many nephews, nieces, loving cousin and relative to many.

We, the family of Evanson Muriithi Mukira wish to express our profound gratitude to all those who provided us with overwhelming support following Muriithrs sudden illness and subsequent demise. We in particular wish to thank and acknowledge the following: – USC Arcadia Hospital in California USA and its medical team who attended to Muriithi with dedication and compassion during his short illness. We are also grateful to the entire USA team comprising friends, relatives and Evanson colleagues.

Special thanks go out to the ACK Diocese of Mt Kenya West under the able leadership of the bishop the Rt. Rev. Gerald Mureithi and retired bishop Rt. Rev.
