It is with deep sorrow, yet with gratitude to Almighty God, that we announce the passing of our beloved Dominic Ruto Pkalya, who went to be with the Lord on 28 August 2025 at Nairobi West Hospital after a short illness.

Dominic was born in Lityei Village, Mnagei Ward, Kapenguria Constituency,West Pokot County. Until his demise, he faithfully served as Snr. Platform Manager, Peace Building and Conflict Transformation (PBCT) at Act! A scholar, author, and thought leader, Dominic was a towering pillar in the peacebuilding and conflict management sector across Kenya and the region, with several publications and articles to his name.

He was the cherished son of James Pkalya and Joyce Chenang’at, and step-son of Grace Pkalya. Beloved brother of Armstrong (Amu) A.G., Moses – NBK, Hycine — USA, and Corine – Australia, and a stepbrother of Kama, Chewara, Plimo, Laban, Sarah, the late Micah, among others.

Dominic was the devoted husband of the late Diana, Gloria and Grace. A loving father of Albertina, Darvin, Hazel, Francisca,Alvine, Haven, Carl, Hadassah, and Pengat.

Grandson of Ko-Ruto, the late Pkalya Mengich, and the late Ko-Paul Pkalya.

Nephew of Joseph Pkalya, Ko-Cherop Kide, Ko-Cheseret, and Ko-Sandra_ Cousin to the Kides, Psikous, and ,Riponyangs.

He was an uncle of Elsie, Rawlins, Vins, Rhyson, Klenz, Zariah, Zanita, Kaylin, Bryden, Ethan, Milan, Ela, Tasha, Ashton, Perur, Jeramil, and the late Cheryl.

Brother-in-law of Mercy Lomuk and Annet Ngeiywa.

The body is lying at Montezuma Funeral Home, Nairobi.

A memorial service will be held at CITAM Valley Road on Tuesday, 9th September 2025 at 10:00 AM.

The cortege will leave for his final resting place in MurkwijitVillage,West Pokot County on Friday, 12th September 2025. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, 13th September 2025 at Murkwijit Primary School starting at 9:00 AM, followed by interment at his home.

Born in 1938, she was the daughter of the late Cosma.s Lavuta and the late Valentine Mwithi. She was the sister of late Catherine, late Mbaluka, late Mutevu. Margret,Teresia, Elisabeth, late John, late Juliana, Pius and Rose.

She was the loving mother of Geradine Mutheu, late Dominic Wambua, late Mutua, late Ezekiel Moscow, Peter Mutua, Mary Kaloo, late Philip Kivai, Augustine Mulinge, Doreen Nduku, late Onesmus Muthenya, late Judges Maweu and Avidar Muteti.

She was the mother-in-law of Philip Mwendwa, Monica Mutua, Esther Moscow, Charity Mutua, Timothy Nzuve Catherine Kivai, Catherine Mulinge, Joseph Musyimi, Elisabeth Muteti. She leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The cortege will leave Montesuma Funeral Home on Wednesday, 10th September, 2025, for her family home Keemanzi Village for burial the same day starting from 10.00am.
