It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on of Emmah Anyango Omollo, which occurred on 18th August 2025. She worked at Absa Bank.

She was the beloved wife of Ogweno Tembo Omollo, and together they were blessed with three children: Ryan Otieno, Emmanuel Ochieng, and Jaden Onyango, and stepchildren Jacqueline Adhiambo, Samuel Odhiambo, and Maureen Ogweno, who will forever cherish her guidance, love, and wisdom.

Emmah was the loving daughter of the late Samwel Omollo Gare and Phibi Ajwang of Asembo.

Daughter-in-law of the late Jackson Tembo and Risper Tembo of Kakiimba.

She was a dear sister of Christine, Jane, Mary, James, Evans, Benson, Nerea, Millicent, Florence, and the late Bob and Mike.

She was a friend to many and will be remembered for her love, generosity, humility, and unwavering faith.

The cortege will leave Umash Funeral Home on Wednesday, 10th September at 2:00 pm. There will be a memorial service at the Umash Funeral Chapel, and also at her residence in Kiamunyi.

The burial will take place at her home in Kakiimba village, Mfangano Island on 12th September 2025, where family, friends, and well-wishers will gather to celebrate her life and bid her farewell.

Emmah was a loving mother, a caring sibling, and a friend to many. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed for the impact she had in the lives of all who knew her.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that the Teachers Service Commission announces the passing on of Goret Lumbasi Simiyu, formerly of TSC Bungoma Central Unit, Bungoma County on 23rd August, 2025.

She was daughter of Cyprian Mussawa Mulisa and the late Franscisca Nabigu.

She was beloved wife of Joseph Simiyu Wataka. A doting mother of Linda Wataka, Allan Wataka, Joy Wataka and Precious Wataka. Grandmother of Mateyo and Johari.

She was a mother-in-law of Philip Takhatkha and a daughter in law of the late Japhetha Wataka and the late Ilen Nabuye Wataka.

The body is lying at Lifecare Hospital — Bungoma. The cortege will leave the Lifecare Hospital Mortuary on 4th September, 2025 for overnight vigil at their home in Kanduyi Home. Burial service will be held on Saturday 6th September, 2025 in Sanandiki village Kabuchai Constituency (Chwele) Bungoma County.

Meetings are being held in Nairobi and at her home in Elugulu, Busia County.

A Memorial service will be held at the All-Saints Cathedral. Nairobi on Tuesday 9th September 2025 at 2.00pm. Thereafter a fundraiser to offset burial expenses will be held at the All-Saints Cathedral Halls on Tuesday 9th September 2025 at 5.00pm.

The body will be removed from the mortuary in Kisumu on Thursday 11th September 2025, for a Memorial service and an overnight vigil at St. Barnabas, Esikura Church – Butula, Sub-County, Busia County, thereafter a final Memorial service will be held at St. John’s Church – Lugulu Archdeaconery, Butula, Sub-County, Busia County on Friday 12th September 2025 at 7.00am. Thereafter the body shall be moved for an overnight stay at her home in Elugulu Village, Butula Sub County, Busia County where the burial service and ceremony will be held on Saturday 13th September 2025 at 9.00am.
