The late Bertha was the daughter of the late Michael Siminyu and the late Herenia Siminyu of Esirisia Mundika. She was daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Gerishom Odwako and the late Mama Alisia Odwako, the late Mama Jennifer Odwako and Mama Sarah Odwako of Bukuyudi, Butula.

Beloved wife of Richard Obuya Odwako, and the mother of Alisia Osiro and Barbara Nafula.

The cortege leaves Same Day Classmates Funeral Parlour, Sega on 17th October 2025 for a Requiem Mass at St Joseph’s Parish Butula The burial will take place on Saturday, 18th October 2025, at her home in Bukuyudi Village, Butula, Busia County.

He was the beloved son of the late Mzee Raphael Wariero Oyoo, and the late Mama Anjelina Wariero, and step son of Mama Preskila Wariero, and Mama Margaret Wariero.

He was devoted husband of Mwalimu Agnes Pwani Ondiek. He was father of George Ochieng (Geez Sports Lounge and Firstmark Solutions Ltd), Hon. Anthony Tom Oluoch (MP Mathare Constituency), Christine Angela Adeno, Cecilia Akinyi (State Department for Irrigation) Raphael Wariero (NT-IAD) and Sarah Adhiambo (The Edge Life Skills Consultants).

He was son-in-law of the late Joseph Celestine Mariwa Gek and the late Susilia Aomo Gek.

He was a cherished brother of the late Magdalina Odera, the late Wilfrida Aring’o, the late Teresa Aluodo, Hellida Atieno, Esaya Wariero, the late Charles Okoth, William Odhiambo, Vitalis Otieno, William Omondi, Agus and the late Thomas Okullo.

First Cousin of Hon. John Olago Aluoch, Phillip Odeny, Maurice Njage, Dr. Cyprian Odeny, Cleophas Ochieng, among others. He was cousin of Mzee James Oketch Nabi, Mzee Onguto, Oyoo, Obiero, Wilkister Amollo among others.

He was father in law of Janet Okeyo-Ochieng, Ngala Mwendwa and Evelyne Abisae-Oluoch.

Family and friends are holding daily meetings and prayers at his home in Kisumu, near St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Kanyakwar.

A major Harambee towards funeral arrangements will be held at his home on Sunday, 12th October 2025, starting at 2:00 PM.

His body will be collected from Aga Khan Mortuary on Thursday, 16th October 2025, at 12 noon. A requiem mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Kanyakwar from Friday, after which the body will be taken to his home for overnight vigil.

Burial will take place on 2.30pm, 17th October 2025, officiated by the Rev Father in-charge St. Paul’s Catholic Church, supported by St. Paul’s Church choir, CMA and CWA. The funeral service will be held at Uzima Universiry grounds–off Mamboleo Junction (On Kisumu-Kakamega road).

He was blessed with six grandchildren namely Marcus, Moziah, Marvin, Myah, Kyra and Alfred.

He was the son in-law of mzee Amos Kegode and the late Karen Kigunyi. He was the brother in-law of Edith Ketenyi, Janet Kegode, Bernard Amata and Jescah Kegode.

He was a brother of the late Renson Oyangi, Epainitus Kibanda, Nelson Angombi, Jescah Mulusa, Zebedayo Kisaka, Janet Adisa, Saphan Magana & Caleb Kibanda, Kennedy Kisia and Betty Angombi.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday 8th October 2025 at 1pm at Friends International Center (Quakers) Church Ngong Road.
