A cherished matriarch, Naomi was the loving mother of Joyce Mbiti, Felistus Muthwii, Benrodgers Mwendwa., Benson Ngunga, Judy Mutave Musyoka, Maria Tito, Rebecca Vilita Muthengi, the late Alex Muange and Dr. Nicholas Mutua.

She was the sister of the late Kiseki, the late Ngami, the late Nguva, Alice Katuti, the late Menyittya, Mwikali Luusa and the late Mukonza.

She was also a cousin to many, and her warmth, wisdom, and grace will be remembered by all whose lives she touched. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her legacy will continue to live on through her family and loved ones.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of Rufus Kariuki Gichuki (retired teacher), which occurred on 30th October 2025 after a short illness.

The late Rufus Kariuki was a beloved son of the late Gichuki Mbui and the late Grace Nyambura. He was brother of the late Mbui, the late Muturi, the late Kirnani, the late Gichuki and Faith Warijiru.

He was a devoted husband of Agnes Wanjiku. A loving father of Grace (TSC), Tabitha (Gocare), Ann (TSC), Anthony (Civitek), Monicah (TSC), Nicholas (Sun-culture), Gladwell (Canada), and Judy (Businesslady). Father-in-law of Silvano (TSC), John (Farmers-world), Esther (Businesslady), Fredrick (WARMA). Grandfather of Anthony, Adrian, Allan, Francis, Esther, Liam, Samara, Linsey and Macra. He was also a cherished uncle and cousin to many.

A fundraiser to offset the hospital bill will be held on Saturday 8th November 2025, at his home in Karinga Village, Kigumo Constituency, Murang’a. County.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of John Mathew Ouya, fondly known as JM and Baba Ricky, which occurred on the morning of Saturday, 18th October 2025, at Bloom Hospital, Kisumu.

He was a devoted husband of Vera Akinyi Aseno, loving father of Ricky, Floviance, Laureen, and Meryl, and doting grandfather of ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Brighton.

JM was the second son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Pancras Onduru and son-in-law of the late Elder Benjamin Aseno Odieny and Mama Rebecca Aseno. He was a cherished brother of John, Rose, Charles, Abby, Kenyatta, Pamela, Dinah (all deceased), Ruth, Catherine, jack, Linda,Valentine, and Odhiambo. He was also a beloved brother-in-law of the Aseno siblings: the late Charles, the late Florence, Lynette, Meshach, Samuel, George, Eucabeth (USA), Eva (USA), Steve, Dr. Maureen (USA), Dr. Beryl (Overseas), and Nancy., and of their spouses: Richard, Roseline, Susan, Pr. Kilonzo (USA), Prof. Calvin (USA), Dr. Joe (Overseas), and Pr. Manasses.

He was a loving nephew of the late Hon. Isaiah Bonyo Oliyo, Susana, Maritha; the Nyaoke, Oliyo, and Odieny families; cousin to many; uncle of Dr. Brighton (Overseas), Bonny, the late Oluach, the late Linda, Kennedy, Darlene (USA), Charles, Laureen, Gloria (USA), Enoch, Adrian (USA), Britney (USA) and many others; father-in-law of Mike, Queen, and Kevin, whose lives he touched with warmth, wisdom, and generosity.

JM was a distinguished agronomist and executive whose career spanned over three decades in both public and private sectors. He served in senior roles at the Ministry of Agriculture, Chemelil Sugar Company, East African Tanning Extract Company, Maseno University, Sony Sugar Company, and Kibos Sugar and Allied Industries. JM will be remembered for his work ethic, resilience, and unwavering commitment to family and community. His original ancestry is from Kanyada (Kothidha) in Homa Bay County, but JAI was born and grew up in his father’s home in Daraja Mbili, Kisii County.

JM will be laid to rest on 13th November, 2025, at his home in Oyugis Town, Kamuma Sub-location (opposite St. Joseph’s Combined Academy; 5 minutes’ drive from Matata Hospital and 10 minutes’ drive from Sikri).

He was born of the late Mzee Bernard Boniface Magoha and the late Mama Joan Sara Aloo Magoha of Ahono Village, Ratudi, East Gem. Brother of the late William Ogola Magoha, the late Consolata Magoha, Mary Owuor,the late Capt. Charles Magoha, the late Michael Magoha, the late Prof. George Magoha, the late Prof. Richard Magoha, Joseph Magoha and Pauline Dola.

He was brother in law of Felistas Ogola, the late Socrates Owuor, Dr.Barbara Magoha, Janet Magoha, Edwina Magoha and the late Tom Dola.

He was son- in- law of the late Fabiano Mahaga and the late Paulina Mahaga of Port Victoria, Budalangi. The body will be brought to the country on 4th November to be preserved at UMASH funeral home them be transferred to Nyamira County nyakongo home on 7th November for night vigil. Funeral will be held on Sunday 9th November 2025.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Hero Joas Abuga Mogeni, who rested on Monday, 4th November 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in 1948, the late Joas Abuga Mogeni served with distinction at Sony Sugar Company, where he was admired for his diligence, mentorship, and unwavering integrity. Since 2014, he fought cancer with remarkable faith and resilience. Over the past three months, he had been in and out of hospital, remaining a source of strength and inspiration to his family until his peaceful passing.

He was a loving father of Mogeni, Nelson, Halima, Adams, Sophy and Moha; A devoted grandfather of Quipan, Steven, Kwambi, Riaz, Ridhwaana, Ian, Erin, Joas, Jamil, Aziel, John Roberts, Junior and Nesh.

Brother of the late Samuel Gekara, the late Arita, the late Onyancha, Masira and the late Mary, the late Stephen Ongenyo, the late Ombachi, Gesora, Mageto, Nyangeri and Pastor Mogeni.

He was a cherished uncle of Senator Okong’o Omogeni, Dauglas, Young, Jayne, Emily, Dr. Arita, Kennedy, Migiro,Vincent, Gilbert, Masi, Clive, Mimi, Fridah, Flora, Matthew, Moffat, Sarah, Kidonye, Shiro, Morara, Electin among others. Brother-in-law of Rose, Lucy, Oganga, Jeriah, James and Truphena.

The late Joas will be remembered for his ever-cheerful spirit, humility, generosity, and a life devoted to family, faith and community. His wisdom, laughter and kindness will forever remain etched in our hearts.
