It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mr. Mathew Kenduiywa of Kaboi Location, Kaptumo Nandi. He was a former Councillor of Kaptumo Ward in Aldai Constituency, Nandi County. Matthew went to be with the Lord on 13th November, 2025 while undergoing treatment.

He was the third born son of the late Tolonyi Chepkwony and the late Rebecca Chepkwony, the late Martha Chepkwony and the late Mary Chepkwony.

He was a loving husband of Florence Kenduiywa, a cherished father of Alice Ngetich, Hellen Wambugu, Beatrice Tuwei, Alfred Cheruiyot, Joseph Cheruiyot, Geoffrey Cheruiyot, and Kenneth Cheruiyot. He was a father-in-law of the late Paul Ngetich, the late John Wambugu, Gabriel Tuwei, Nelly Cheruiyot, Winny Cheruiyot, Lydia Cheruiyot, and Jackline Cheruiyot. He was a doting grandfather, and great-grandfather to many.

He was a loving brother of the late Paramount Chief – Wilson Kenduiywa, the late Jonah Kenduiywa, the late Priscilla Ngeno, Grace Mabwai, Joshua Kenduiywa, Gilbert Kenduiywa, Stanley Kenduiywa, John Kenduiywa, Samuel Kenduiywa, the late Rachel Rono, Joel Kenduiywa, Reuben Kenduiywa, Priscilla Koech, the late Philip Kenduiywa, Jonathan Kenduiywa and Alfred Kenduiywa.

A fundraising event will be held on Wednesday, 19th November, 2025 both at his home in Kaboi, Aldai constituency at 2.00 p.m. and at All saints Cathedral, Nairobi at 5.30 pm.

The cortege leaves Eldoret Hospital on Friday, 21st November 2025 at 10:00 a.m. for his home in Kaboi,Aldai Constituency for a memorial service and overnight vigil. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, 22nd November 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Kaboi Primary School, Aldai Constituency, Nandi County. He will be laid to rest at his home Kaboi Kaptumo.
