Joan was the beloved daughter of the late James Githaiga and Joyce Maiki Githaiga.

She was a devoted mother of Eli Githaiga Macharia, and a cherished sister of Julie Nyakinyua Githaiga and Beatrice Tunu Yeri. She was a beloved niece, cousin, auntie, and friend to many.

A funeral service followed by the final rites will be held on Thursday, 186 December 2025, from 10:00 am at the Francis J. Collins Funeral Home in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Joan was a gentle soul, kind-hearted and deeply loved. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
