We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Richard Otieno Nyabala of Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA),Western Region Kakamega. He was the second born son of the late Joseph Nyabata Aron and Clementina Abuto of Kanyajwa Rangwe, Homa Bay County.

Richard was husband of Elizabeth Achieng’ and Ninah Atieno. He was father of Seminarians Vincent Odhiambo and Lenox Owino, Fedinant Omondi, Debra Anyango, Ritah Tinina, Bless Lema, Lavy Njema, and Honald Gift.

He was brother of the late Patrick Owino,Tobias Odongo, Seraphina Auma, the late Maureen Adhiambo, and Alloys Opiyo. Grandson of the late Gabriel Aron and Esther Wambui. He was a cousin and nephew to many. Uncle of Christine Awuor, trine Atieno, Richard Otieno and Barack Obama.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at their home in Kawanga Village near Oluso Comprehensive School.

The cortege will leave the Homa Bay Referral Parlour on Thursday 18th December at 1:00 pm. Requiem Mass will be conducted at St.Theresa’s Asumbi Catholic Parish after which the cottage will head to his rural home in Kawanga Village near Olusa Comprehensive School. The burial will take place on I 9th December 2025 at the family home starting at 10.00 a.m.

A Requiem Mats will be held on Wednesday, 17th December 2025 at 12:00 pm at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Jacaranda, Nairobi.

The body will be airlifted to Kisumu International Airport on Thursday, 18th December 2025, followed by a requiem mass at St. John the Apostle Catholic Parish Awasi, and thereafter an overnight Vigil at his home in Awasi.

Burial will take place on Friday, 19th December 2025 at the family home in Awasi, Border 2 Sub- location, Nyando Constituency, Kisumu County.

He was the son of the late Daniel Muraya Ngatia and Grace Nyawira Muraya.

Doting and loving husband of Mary Nyambura Kanyi. Father of Dr. Grace Kanyi (Tharaka Nithi, County), Teresa Kanyi (New Zealand), Ann Kanyi, Daniel Kanyi and Christine Kanyi. He was father-in-love of Dr. Stephen Giteru (New Zealand). Grandfather of Melvin Gitonga,Amos Gitonga and Noah Gitonga.

Evening meetings are taking place every evening till Thursday the 18.12.2025 from 4.00pm at his home in Gathuthi, right next to Gathuthi Tea Factory.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Benjamin Gathura King’ori, CEO of Petro Oil Kenya Limited, on Friday, 12th December, 2025.

He was the cherished son of the late Mwalimu Peter Gathura King’ori and the late Ndigwako Bertha King’ori and son-in-law of the late Fridah Kavili Mutyambai.

Beloved husband of Rhoda Mueni King’ori. Loving father of Rita, Brenda and Petersamson King’ori.

He was a devoted brother of the late Dr. Subila Wangui King’ori, Elizabeth Mumbi and Charles Chadri, the late Maryanne Anganile Wangari King’ori, David and Caroline King’ori. He was a loving uncle and friend to many.

BG touched the lives of many through his kindness. lively spirit humility and compassion. Benjamin also devoted himself to community service through the Wema Centre, where he served as Board Chair from 2009 For over 16 years, his leadership, integrity, dedication and compassion helped transform Wema into a beacon of hope. He championed vulnerable children with Integrity, compassion, and tireless dedication, leaving a lasting mark on the institution and all who knew him.

Meetings will be held at the family home on Mukinduri Road, off Forest Edge Road, from 300 p m., and at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, from 5:30 p.m., beginning Monday, 15th December through Wednesday, 17th December 2025.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, 18th December 2025, at 12:00 noon at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.
