It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that the Parliamentary Service Commission announces the demise of Dr. Philip Brightone Buchere, PhD, who passed away on Monday 24th November, 2025, at Witrzburg University Hospital in Germany while receiving treatment.

Dr. Buchere lived a life characterized by distinguished service and unwavering devotion to his family. As a diligent, resourceful and industrious public servant, his professional conduct exemplified honesty, self-discipline, integrity and a remarkable work ethic, leaving an indelible mark on Parliament and in the public service as a whole.

Beyond his impactful career, Dr Buchere was the loving husband of Edith Jepchirchir Siror, a devoted father of Brian Ikhabi, Fiona Awiti Shapwala, Paul Okuyo, Eugene Mukuya Buchere and Nigel Mathias Nyongesa (adopted).

He was the loving second born child of Mr Kenneth Buchere and Mrs Mary Buchere and a cherished brother of the late Carolytie Buchere, Brian Buchere, Jackie Buchere, Billy Buchere, Dave Buchere, Swinnie Koepke, the late Charles Buchere and Mercy Buchere.The other siblings are Beverline Buchere, Zawadi Buchere and Gilbert Buchere.

Nat Kangethe, one of Kenya’s pioneer African Certified Public Accountants, passed away peacefully at 10:50 a.m. on 2nd December 2025 at AAR Hospital on Kiambu Road. He suffered a heart attack while in ICU and was surrounded by his wife Hannah, son Charles Kangethe and daughter Caroline Nyambura.

He was the son of the late Michael Kangethe Mbugua and Phyllis Nyambura; brother of James Nuthu, the late Mukara, the late Wanjiru, the late Njoroge, Wanjiku, Wangari and the late Njeri.

Beloved husband of Hannah Wakanyi. Loving father of Charles Kangethe, Caroline Nyambura, Cathleen Wanjiku and Ruby Wanjiru. Cherished grandfather and great-grandfather of many.

A devoted Christian of PCEA Runda Evergreen.

He was brother-in-law to the Late Charles Ishasi, the Late Natu Ishasi, Aubrey Ishasi, the Late Joyce Ishasi, the Late Julius Ishasi & the Late George Ishasi.

He was Grandfather to Regina Mbeu, Thandiwe Amy, Shani Mkagereza, Nelson Nguru, Amani Mbaluka, Ezra Mutua & Tulani Kanyatta. He was a cousin, uncle, friend, mentor and confidant to many.

Hon. Denar was loving husband of Eileen Dena and doting father of Joseph Hamisi Dena (TJ). and the late Addiraya Nalonja Dena.

The late Hon. Denar was nominated to the National Assembly following the 2022 General Elections under the Amani National Congress (ANC) Party. Until his untimely demise, the late Hon. He was son in-law of the late Benson Minai Munyinyi and Reginah Wanjiru Minai of Kagwe Ward, Lari Constituency. He was a cousin and an uncle to many.
