We are saddened to announce the death of Francis Mokono Omwoyo of Gesiaga Village, Motembe Sub-location Kemera Location Nyamira County which occurred on 5th January, 2026 at Kisii Teaching, and Referral Hospital.

He was a son of the late Zakayo Omwoyo Mokono and Aska Ondieki Omwoyo. He was a brother of the Late Charles Atambo, Birita, Geoffrey, Henry, Naftal, Dr. Teresa Nyambegera, Drusila and Justin. He was a brother in-law of the Late Eunice, Late Robinson, Late Nahum, Dina Kwamboka, Lucas Nyangweso, and Gertrude Jepngetich.

He was a nephew of Bosire, Ogaro, Kerosi, Ogeto. Mangaa, Mokono, Ongwenyi, Nyachieo, Nyangeri, Robina, Clemencia, Kerubo, Moraa, Pauline, Machoka, Osoro and Banchiri (ALL LATE), Obiero and Nyakara among others.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Moureen Achieng Odongo, who went to be with the Lord on 9th January 2026, after a courageous fight with cancer, borne with remarkable strength and grace. She was formerly of Kenyatta National Hospital (Doctors Plaza).

She was a cherished grandchild of John Robert & Aifreda Alando of Gem Maliera, and Joseph Kimbio & Maria Shighadi of Voi, Taita.

She was a devoted mother of Eugene Agwa (Moi University), Ryan Agwa (Sawagongo High School), and Amanda Tatu (Carmelvale Catholic Primary School), a loving auntie to many, and a friend to many.

She was a loving sister of Jacqueline, Edgar, Gloria, Samson, Caroline, Fidel (late), Joseph, Linda, Edmond, Patricia, Maria, and Esther.

She was a sister-in-law of Clifford Okello, Karim, Florence, Lucy, and Samson, a cousin to the Adeyas, Omoros, Okachs, (Dumas, Opiyos, Ochilos, and Ochiengs, as well as the wider Koyoo clan.

Family and friends are gathering daily at her Donhoim Phase 8 residence, Nairobi.

A funds drive will be held on Tuesday, 20th January 2026 at All Saints Cathedral, starting from 5:00pm, to assist with offsetting the hospital bill and funeral arrangements.

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the demise of James Kihoria Mburu on 15th January 2026 at Aga Khan Hospital after a long illness bravely borne.

James, was the son of the late Harrison Mburu and the late Mary Wanjiru.

He was the beloved husband of Justine Mary Nzyoka. He was the loving father of Brian Mburu, Kihoria, Isabel Wanjiru Kihoria and Nathan Kimani Kihoria.

He was the brother of the late Veronica Njeri Mburu, Anne Nyambura Mburu and John Gituanja Mburu.

He was uncle of Daisy Wanjiru Mburu and Harry Gituanja Mburu. He was nephew, cousin and friend of many.

He was the son in law of the late Jasper J Nzyoka and the late Rosaita Mbaika Nzyoka. He was brother-in-law of Chris, Chrysanthus, Crispin, the late Joseph Nzuma and Franco.

Friends and family are meeting daily for support and prayers at his home in Kiambu from 4:00PM.

There will be mass on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th January 2026 at their home in Kiambu starting from 7.00 PM.

The cortege will leave Umash Funeral Home on Friday 23rd January 2026 at 9.00am. The Requiem Mass will be at Don Bosco Catholic Church, Upper hill at 10.00AM. Followed by burial at Langata.

Friends and relatives are meeting at their Nairobi residence in Syokimau Quarry road, and at Gionseri, Nyamache Sub-county Kisii County.

She was mother of Margaret Wanjiku Gitonga, Virginia Njeri Kibue. Agnes Wairimu Njonjo, Samuel Gatacha, Francis Wainaina, the late Bernard Kariku, Fidelis Waithira Waithaka and Catherine Nduta Wagoki.

She was sister-in-law of Priscillah Wairimu Kihiu, Charles Kamau, the late Patricia Nduta Ndichu, and others in the larger Gatacha Kimani family.

She was mother-in-law of the late Paul Gitonga Muchemi, Joseph Kibue Thaiya, Peter Njonjo Kibera, Hanna Nyokabi Gatacha, Scotia Mukami Wainaina,Winnie Njeri Kariku, Francis Waithaka ‘Babu, and Anthony Wagoki Njenga. She was grandmother to 21 grandchildren and great-grandmother to Nyla.

She was aunt to Fr. Emmanuel Ngugi and Long John, among others.

Funeral meetings are being held at the family residence in Kimunyu Sub-location, Gatundu South. The cortege leaves KU Referral KUTRH on Thursday, 22/01 /2026 at 8:00 a.m. Mass will be held at Kimunyu Football Grounds from 11:00 a.m. Thereafter, interment will take place at the family residence in Thiririka, Kimunyu.
