Adongo Ambala

It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing of Adongo Ambala, on the 2Ist of November 2025. She was an employee of City of Kisumu.

Adongo was a beloved daughter of the late Otieno Ambala Snr and Mrs. Nancy Ambala.

She was a cherished mother of Iris Apiyo, Sophie Adongo, and Finn Okello, and a loving sister of Akinyi, Marvin, Apiyo, Auma, Chizi, Taurai, the late Otieno Jr, the late Oduor, Odhiambo, the late Nyerere and Metric.

She was a step-daughter of the late Perez Ambala and the late Beryl Odinga.

A devoted sister-in-law of Emma, Pals, Brian, Lucy, Darlene, Millicent & Mira. She was a much loved aunt of Kees, Sabina, Thijs, Dejanee, David and many others. She was also a niece and cousin to many.

Friends and family are meeting daily for prayers and burial arrangements at the family home in Chulaimbo, Kisumu West Sub County.

A memorial service will be held at St. Stephens Cathedral, Milimani, Kisumu on Thursday 4th of December 2025 at 12:00PM.This will be followed by an overnight vigil at the family home in Chulaimbo. She will be laid to rest on the 5th of December 2025 ) at the same location. The burial service will begin at 10:00AM.
