Agnes Waithira Ngugi
It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Agnes Waithira Ngugi of Muruka village, Muruka Location, Kandara Sub-County, Murang’a County which occurred on 21st January 2020 after long illness bravely borne. She was a proud member of Muranga Catholic Women Association and a dedicated member of Muruka Catholic Church Pioneer group.
She was beloved daughter of the late Samuel Mwirigi and the late Rachel Wanjiku. A doting wife of the late Philip Marugu. Sister of Macharia, Muturi, The late Mwangi, Kariuki, Thiongo and Gachunji
Maitu was loving mum of the late Joseph Marugu, the late Anastacia Nyandia Marugu, Andrew Mwirigi Ngtigi, Rachel Wanjiku Kinguri (Immigration Department), Rosemary Wathoni Karanja, Jacinth Njambi Ngugi (NYS, HQ Nairobi), David Ndung’u Ngugi (KNH), the late Susan Njold Ngugi, Engineer Simon Macharia Ngugi (NTSA) and Dr, Catherine Njeri Ngugi (MOH-NASCOP). Maitu was mother in law of Zipporah Mwirigi, late Kinguri, James Karanja, the late Njoroge, Caroline Ndungu, Alice Macharia, Dr. Stephen Chomba Waweru (UoN-Dental Plaza),
She was doting grandmother of Ngugi Nyandia, Waithira Mwirigi, Ngugi Mwirigi, Wanjiru Mwirigi, Wairimu Mwirigi, Wanjiku Mwirigi, Gitau Kinguri, Ngugi Kinguri, Gachihi Karanja, Ngugi Karanja, Miatu Karanja, Marugu Karanja, Fredrick Ngugi, Joseph Marugu,The late Agnes Njoki,The late Ngugi Ndungu,Waithira Ndungu, Ng’endo Ndungu, Ian Macharia, Brian Macharia, Mutoria Macharia, Mugi Macharia, Dwain Chomba,Adrian Chomba and Aviela Chomba. She was loving great grandmother of Tatiana Nyandia, Bradley Marugu, Andrew Mwirigi, Karanja Gachihi, Chege Gachihi, Karanja Ngugi, Muchina Ngugi, Wathoni Miatu and Karanja Miatu.
Family and friends are meeting at, Norwich Union 4th Floor room 11 , Muruka Village and Fourways Junction estate (Kiambu Road) every day from 5:30 pm.
The cortege will leave Lee funeral home on 29th January 2020 at 7.30am. A requiem mass will be conducted the same day at Muruka Catholic Church starting at 9.30 am. Burial will follow thereafter at her home in Muruka ward/village, Muruka location, Kandara Sub county, Muranga County.

“In life we loved you dearly Maitu, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill. You will always be in our heart because in there you’re still alive. You sacrificed so much and taught us a lot. We are forever grateful. Never to be forgotten. We created so many sweet memories and they will remain forever etched in our hearts Until we meet again! We love you”.
In God’s hands you rest, in our hearts you will remain forever. Fare thee well “Maitu”! Soon we will meet again.
