The Ministry of Foreign Affairs regrets to announce the death of Ambassador Anthony Andanje, who until his untimely death on 17th February, 2020 was the immediate former Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kenya to UN-Habitat.
Son of the late Socrates Andanje and Jedidah Khevali Mafunga. Father of Jeremy Anthony Andanje and the late Denise Khevali Andanje. Brother of Herbert ‘B’ Mafunga, Molly Inyanji Mafunga, Foster Andanje, Roderick Musombi Mafunga, Valentine Sakwa Mafunga, Brian Mafunga and Yvonne Khayanga Mafunga. Nephew and cousin of the Lihungus, the Muchumas, the Kararnojas and the Kulechos. Uncle of Latoya, Elaine, Eugene, Earl, Lwire, Pedro, Alice, Ian, Maureen, Melisa, Laureen, Blaise, Naureen, Olivia, Nathaniel and Daniel.
Meetings are being held at his residence in Kileleshwa, Tabere Crescent, daily from 5.00 p.m.
The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home, Nairobi on Wednesday 26th February, 2020 for an overnight vigil at his residence.
The funeral service will be held at The Friends International Centre -Church (FIC), Ngong Road, Nairobi on Thursday 27th February, 2020 from 10.00 a.m. Burial ceremony will follow thereafter at Langata Cemetery.

Amb Andanje was a great diplomat and a pleasant person all round. He permanently exhibited exceptional human relationships and ever appealed to all and sundry. Another sad day for Kenya. May God rest him in peace and grant strength to the family and friends to endure the untimely death this great man of diplomacy

My dear friend Tony, I’m profoundly shocked at your passing. I remember your pride when you talked of your son, your work and your Malindi investments. But again, you were so sad about the passing of your parents. You were one of a kind and Kenya has lost a great diplomat and a special friend to many. May you have a blessed eternal rest.
