It’s with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ambassador Jacob Kipketer Chumba on 9th June, 2021, Kapseret – Uasin Gishu. He was born in Kapchemunyuny, Serem, Nandi County.
Husband of Salome Jelel Chumba. Son of late Senior Chief Jonathan Maiyo and the late Mama Tapkili Kirorei. Father of Kimaiyo, Sigei, Chepkemei, Chebet and Kimursoi Chumba. Step-son of Salome, Tabutany, and Rosa Maiyo. Father-in-law of Tenten Deng and Martha Chumba. Brother of the late Alfred Maiyo, late William Maiyo, late Dina Jebosio, the late Ruth Jepkorir Muchiri, Helen Maiyo, Mary Kiprop, Peter K. Maiyo, Magdalenah Kipketer and step-brother to many.
The cortege leaves Eldoret Hospital Mortuary on Friday June 18th at 9.00am. Prayers will be held at St. Mathews ACK Lemook, Aturei Parish, Diocese of Eldoret at 12 noon on the same day, and thereafter, family and friends will meet at the residence of late Amb. Chumba’s for prayers.
Service and Burial will be held on Saturday, June 19th, 2021, at 10.00am at his farm in Lemook village, Uasin Gishu.
