Ann Wangechi Gichimu

It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Ann Wangechi Gichimu of Gachika, Kirichu Village, Nyeri Municipality. Our beloved Ann Wangechi was called to be with our Lord on 01/07/20 19, after a long illness.

Wife of the late Kanyuaheho Gichimu Gatamu. Daughter of the late Kambora Gichuhi and Leah Wanjiku Kambora of Ichamara, Marandi-ini, Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri. Mother of Grace Wamuyu Mucheru, Gladwell Muthoni (USA), Susan Wairimu Wanjii (Kawaida), Rachel Nyambura (UK) and Peter Gatamu (Mombasa). Sister of Joe Gachehu, Moses Kibui, Wanjiru Kambora, Wangui Thua and the late Wairimu Kambora. Mother-in-law of the late John Mucheru, Peter Muchiri (KEPHIS) and David Meodow (London). Grandmother of CS MoICT Joe Mucheru, Sam Gichimu Mucheru, Lisa Mucheru, Njeri Mucheru, Muniu Mucheru, Ann Wangechi Mucheru, Barry Gichimu, the late Anthony Muturi, Sheila Mukami, Gabriel Gichimu, Wangui Wanjii, Muchiri Wanjii, Mwangi Wanjii, Ann Wangechi, George Gichimu, Grace Wamuyu, Leah Muthoni, Miles Gatamu, Emmy Gatamu and Nicole Gatamu. Auntie and great grand-mother of many.

Relatives and friends are meeting for prayers everyday at her home, Gachika Village, Kirichu, and (Nairobi, All Saints Cathedral from 5.30pm to 8.00pm on Tuesday 9th July and Wednesday 10th July, 2019, only).

The cortege will leave Tumutumu Hospital Mortuary on Friday 12/07/2019 at 9.00am, then, proceed to PCEA Kirichu Church for a farewell service at 10.00am. She will be laid to rest thereafter at GachikaVillage, Kirichu Ward, Nyeri Municipality.
