Bishop Joseph Gitau Gichung’wa

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of our beloved Bishop Joseph Gitau Gichung’wa of Apostolic Faith Church, Ngong.

Son of the late Solomon Gichung’wa Kabata and Martha Wambui Gichung’wa. Husband of Mary Nyambura Gitau. Father of the late Martha Wambui, Solomon Gichung’wa (and Dorcas Wambui), Cyrus Njau (and Rosemary), Teresia Wanjiru, Moses Njuguna, Sarah Wanjiru (and Stephen Muiruri) and Dorcas Wambui. A loving Guka of 12 children.

Brother of Bishop Musa John Njuguna, Rev. Dr. David Ngugi Gichung’wa, Paul Mwangi Gichung’wa, Sarah Wanjiru Waweru, Joseph Muturi Gichung’wa and Ann Nyambura Gichung’wa. Brother-in-law of Mary Wakonyo Njuguna, Rev. Prof. Miriam Wanjiku Gichung’wa, Mary Wairimu Mwangi, Jeremiah Waweru Ndung’u and Phyllis Wangui Muturi.

There will be a Memorial Service at the Apostolic Faith Gitau Gichung’wa Church, Ngong today (Sunday 21st) at 2.00pm followed by a session of fundraising.

Family and friends will meet again on Monday at the same venue at 5.00pm. Other meetings are being held at his home in Matasia.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home, Mbagathi Road, Nairobi, on Tuesday 23rd March, 2021 at 9.00arn for a funeral service at Nashepa Gardens, Matasia at 11.00am followed by the burial at his home in Matasia.
