Appreciation

The family of the late Colonel (RTD) Michael Muiru Gichuki, wishes to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, relatives, neighbors and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the funeral service and burial and those who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time. For those who telephoned, travelled long distances, sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolences, as well as those who made charitable donations, we are truly grateful.

A special word of thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of MP Shah Hospital for their kindness and respect shown to him before his demise; to Rev Dr . Geoffrey N. Gathairu and Father Prof. Lawrence Njoroge for a heartfelt service; to Kenyatta University Funeral Services, Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, House in Bloom Ltd, Paramount Caterers, and all other service providers for their sensitive and professional handling of arrangements.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the funeral organizing committees both in Kiambu and Gitiha, who sacrificed their time to ensure everything ran smoothly.

A special thank you to the funeral organizing committee chairman, Stanley Gathura Njenga.

We say a big thank you to the Kenya Defence Forces fraternity, the Kenya Air Force Veterans Association (KAFVETs) and their families.

Time speeds on and now one year has passed since death cast its gloom and shadow within our home and took from us our shining light, but our memories of you are a gift to treasure; you were our pillar of strength, your wisdom and generosity will remain our guiding light. Our tears freely flow knowing that you were a father whose worth can never be told. The void you left is huge but God has lifted us to a place of comfort, peace, strength and your spirit lives within us knowing that there can never be another one like you in our hearts. We hold dearly to the virtues, values and guidance that you bestowed upon all of us.

We wish to express our gratitude to our many loving relatives, friends, neighbours, in laws, clergy and well wishers who stood and continue to stand with us. We were overwhelmed by your love, kindness, prayers, moral and financial support. Special thanks to Fr. In-charge Riara Parish Fr. Muroki and Fr. We sincerely thank each one of you by name for the overwhelming generosity and support following the promotion to glory of our beloved darling mother, grandma, sister, aunty, cousin and best friend.

We thank the Ambulance team that rescued Mama at KICC on the morning of 13th June 2017, the Doctors and medical team that attended to Mama at Better Living SDA clinic.The Doctor who made calls to family members to get to the hospital in the shortest time possible. May the Lord bless you as you continue to serve humanity.

We, the family of the late Chesang Cheptugen Kapakwei Kaptaiwa clan would like to sincerely thank God and all of you who stood with us recently as we bid farewell to our beloved Koko Elizabeth Chesang who went to be with the Lord on 25th June,2017.

We express special appreciation to Kapkessum dispensary, Kapkessum catholic church among others. Elgeyo-Marakwet County led by the Governor H.E Eng. Alex Tolgos, relatives, friends, uncles, aunties and the entire Kapkessum fraternity and its environs. Special thanks also go to Mr. Kariuki’s family and friends in Britain.

We are grateful for your prayers, kindness, material support and in seeing us through the difficult time; we are also glad for the joy, blessing and comfort you brought to our family as we celebrate matriarchs’ life and legacy. She left a living legacy in many grandchildren who span all walks of life.
