We celebrate the promotion to glory of our beloved mum, sister, auntie and Cucu, Catherine Wangari Maina, on Friday, March 8th, 2019.

Daughter of the late Moses Gakobo and Wairimu Gakobo. Sister of the late Josephine Njeri, the late Rose Wangui, the late Julius Maina, the late Dominic Gatune, the late Lucy Wanjiru, Esther Kanuthu, the late John Kamau and the late Joseph Mwangi. Beloved wife of Lysander Josphat Maina. Mother of the late Joseph Mwangi, the late Charles Gakobo, David Karanja, Maureen Wan derwa, the late Wairimu Maina, Margaret Kirigu and the late William Macharia. Mother in law of Fidelis Wambui, Hellen Kigode, Beatrice Nyakairu Maina and the late Lucy Wanjira. Grandmother of Michael Mwangi and Irene Wanjiru, Eric Maina and Terry Murugi, Patrick Mwatha, Julie Wangari, Dennis Maina, Catherine Wangari, Charles Maina, Sheila Wangari, Kelly Wangari and Blessing Mwende. Great-grandmother of Wambui and Natalie.

Family and friends are meeting for prayers at the Chokaa (Njiru) home every evening at 5.00pm and at the Cardinal Otunga Annexe, 7th Floor, St. Faustina, on Friday, March 15th and Monday, March 18th at 5:30pm.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 8:00am for burial at her Maragua home in Mucunguca Village in Murang’a County.
