David Minishi, 19, from Moi’s Bridge was shot and killed by thugs who invaded the home of his parents in Moi’s Bridge, Trans Nzoia County on Saturday July 14th 2018.

His father Stephen Sugut said his son was sprayed with bullets in the chest as the killers, believed to have been two men, shot randomly at windows and doors.

“Our son was killed by bullets, he had just ventured out of the house moments before the shooting,”

“The tragedy happened at 10.30pm, but the police came at 11.00pm ,transferring the body to the mortuary at 2am, this is unfair we could have saved him may be,” he said.

“Our son death results from laziness witnessed by the police in the area, he could be alive if the police could do frequent patrols, but to be frank they don’t do it thus the rising cases of insecurity,” he said.

He urged the government to quickly intervene and help them get justice.

“I urge the government and those in authority to help us get justice for David, he was innocent and hardworking boy, we are told by police that after the burial they will speed the investigations and I am aware its simply black mail,” He said.

Evalyn Muhavi, the mother, said: “Our son had enrolled for an Automotive course in Jordan College in Thika and he was to join the college in September this year, we don’t know why this happened to him,” she said.

They were forced to remain indoor after the gun fire as the attackers had targeted any one who might have come out to rescue David.

“They remained within the compound talking, they had just that courage for some times before they left the place, they were waiting for any one who could come to David’s aid to kill him or her too, we were hence forced to remain indoor until the police came,” She said.

Daniel Lugonzo, a brother of David, said the deceased had just brought his father from Moi’s Bridge before he met his barbaric death.

“My brother after accompanying my Father from town he relaxed after that, he went outside unfortunately the attackers shot him dead without mercy, we are not aware why this happened,” Said Daniel.

Moi’s Bridge OCS Benard Kenyatta said that the investigations are ongoing to arrest and made the attackers to face the full wrath of the law.

“We are doing everything we can to arrest and charge those who involved in the murder of David, I urge all of you to be calm as we continue with our investigations,” he said.
