David Syeunda Olunga Obanda

It is with profound shock and disbelief that we announce the untimely death of David Syeunda Olunga Obanda, through a tragic motor accident.

He was the son of the late Mzee Henry Olunga Obanda and the late Mama Fridah Bwabi Olunga of Kambi Miwa area, Kitale.

He was husband of Rose Margaret Aiiambo and father of Ivy Avilla of USA.

He was son-in-law of the late Mzee Joshua and the late Mama Miriam Okuku of Busia.

He was father in-law of Jonathan Avilla and grandfather of River Avilla.

He was brother of Walter Osama, Margaret Oyugi, the late Job Wesonga, the late Anne Wasonga. Florence Adoyo, Floridah Adongo, Ezekiel Chesa, Emmanuel Nyongesa, Janet Njeri and Hezekiah Bunde.

He was uncle of Fridah, Henry, Elphas, Hosea, Phanice, Ruth Njoroge, Lucy, Henry, Fridah, Christopher, Caroline, Philip, Kate, Philip Adoyo, Fredah, Bob, Abby Bwabi, Henry, Henry Boyie”, Rodah, the late Barrack, Henry “Ite”, job, Laura,Truphosa, Zina Bwabi, Lisa, Ronald Henry and Kayla.

Funeral arrangements are being conducted at David’s residence in Buru Buru Phase 5, Mai Mahiu court and Kingeleni farm, Kitale at the family home. There shall be a harambee on 6th December 2025 at 4.00pm at his residence in Buru Buru Phase 5, Mai Mahiu court and Kingeleni farm, Kitale on 7th December at 2.00pm.

The cortege departs from Kenyatta University Funeral home on 11th December 2025 for a requiem mass at the All-Saints Cathedral Church from 2.00pm on 11th December 2025 and thereafter departs for Kitale.

Burial shall be on 13th December 2025 at his Kingeleni Farm, Kambi Miwa, Kitale.
