We are sad to announce the death of Dorcas Achieng’ Odhiambo (Nyo Okumu).

Wife of the late Elly Odhiambo Ongudi of Kaswanga, Rusinga Island. Daughter of the late Okumu Kirawo and Mama Abidha Oketch of Waregi Kaksingri. Sister-in-law of Zephania Ongudi, Odero Ongudi, Christopher Onyango Ongudi, Peter Ochola and Abiud Okeyo, Mother of Grace Opiyo, Jim Ochieng’ (USA), the late Paul Obara, the late Margaret Tindi and Tom Ongundi of Sena. Step-mother of the late Amb. Michael Okeyo, the late Meshack Otieno, the late Moses Ouma Ogwanjo, Margaret Omollo, Tom Onyango, Calvin Odero, Mary Akoth and Caren Omollo. Her Co-wives are Philida Nyengo, Nora Omollo and Damaris Auma.

Mother-in-law of Were the late Margaret Ochieng’, Mercy Ochieng’, Josphine Obara, Margaret Obara, Tabitha Ongudi, Debora Okeyo, Prof. Achola Okeyo and Rose Otieno. Grandmother of the late Elly Ochieng’, Nicole Agunda, Eugene Ochieng, Crawley, Jennie, Winnie, Tonny, Emma, Dan, Violet, Zephania, Elly and many others. llother-in-law of the late Were Jeremiah Opiyo, James Tindi and Paul Ogweno.

The body is at Kirindo Mortuary and the burial will be on the 14th Sunday July, 2019 at her home in Kaswanga, Rusinga.
