We announce with deep sorrow the sudden and untimely passing of Douglas Osoro Onchiri of Kenya Defense Forces, 10 Engineers Battalion, Nanyuki on Monday, 17th November 2025.

Son of Mwalimu (Rtd) Samwel Onchiri Magaki and Milkah Nyaboke Onchiri of Nskha Sub Location, Bonyarorande Location, Nyamira County.

Son-in-law of Jackson and Mary Abel Ontonyi.

Beloved husband of Lydiah Nyanchama. Loving father of Eddy (Moi Forces Academy, Nairobi) and Bramwel (St. Christopher’s, Nanyuki).

Cherished brother of Dr. Frankline (USA), Jane, James, Esther, and Dinah.

Brother-in-law of Kemunto (USA), Juliet, Martin, Samson, and Liner.

Uncle of Bonface, Henry, Lewis, Yasha, Steve, Davy, Collins, Ramsey, Naira, Nicole (USA), Joey (USA) and Isaiah (USA). Nephew of Evans, James. Zachary, Alfayo, Peter, Onyango, the late Mokogi, the late Sarongo, the late Bosibori, Alice, Hebshiba, Yunuke, Eunice, Salome and Leak.

Cousin of Bundi, Ondieki, Jared, Mogondo, King, Charles, Jeremiah, Nancy, Enock, James, Happiness, Wycliff, Robert, Ndege, Marinda, the late Benard among others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his residence in Nanyuki and ancestral home in Nyamira.

The cortege leaves Defense Forces Memorial Hospital (DFMH) Mortuary on Thursday, 4th December 2025. A funeral service will be held at Nsicha Primary School Playground on Friday, 5th December 2025 starting 9:00 AM, followed by burial at his home in Nsicha Sub Location, Bonyarorande Location. Nyamira County.
