Dr. Ken Ouko

It is with profound sorrow, great humility and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce that The Family of Councilor Caleb Ouko (Calo) and the entire University of Nairobi Community has sadly lost a beloved son, pillar and Academician following the sudden demise of Dr. Ken Ouko (formerly of The University of Nairobi)

Dr. Ken Ouko passed away on Saturday 1st August 2020 while hospitalized at The Agha Khan University Hospital, Nairobi having battled with illness for a Week.

He was born on 31st August 1964 to The Family of Councilor Caleb Ouko (Calo) and the late Mama Loice Adoyo Ouko (Nyar Ogal) of Oyugis Town, Kamuma, Nyandiwa Village, Homabay County. His other Mothers are Mama Rosa Ouko, Agnes Ouko and Pennina.

Until his untimely demise, Dr. Ken Ouko was a Senior Lecturer at University of Nairobi, Sociology Department. Ken was passionate about Sociology.

He was the beloved husband to Grace Agengo Ouko of Kisumu Nyahera. He was the father of beloved children Cheryl Achieng Ouko, Melisa Amondi Ouko, Ken Ouko Jnr and Pelamu Ouko. Brother to the late Erick Okoth Calo, Bolton Ken Ouko (USA), Josephine Ouko, Janet Onyango (former TAC County Director of Education — Kakamega), Boaz Olela Ouko (KPA – Mombasa), Tom Calo Ouko (Coca Cola — Kisumu), Richard Calo (Businessman — Kitale), Alfred Ouko, Dave Calo Ouko (Businessman — Nakuru), Hillary Ouko (Businessman — Oyugis), Caren, Rose, Jackline and Milka.

Patrick Lumumba Odek Ouko (ABT Associates Inc), Dr.Willis Odek Ouko (South Africa), Collins Odek Ouko (Principal — Wakula Secondary School), Lavender, Belinda (Judiciary), Hannington Ouko (Postbank), Ken Kaunda Ouko (UK), Pewy Ouko (PWC — Uganda), Roline Ouko (Kenya Police), Alfred Ouko (Brinks), Dancun Odhiambo Ouko, (SCDE- Rongo), Inspector Millicent Atieno (Kenya Police), Elly Odhiambo (KIWASCO), Nana Ouko (Oxfam Int), Payan Ouko (Getrudes) Valarie, Wendo, Alfred Wendo (Occidental), Alfred Ouko (NSSF – Nairobi),Alfred Otieno Ouko (South Sudan),Willis Orende (KPA), Nasser Okeyo (Finland), Barnice Okeyo (State House), Brian and Pet Ouko (USA).

Nephew to Japuonj Ishmael Odhiambo Ouko, John Achieng Ouko, Dr. Sam Ouko (Chief Pharmacist — Kemri), the late Gilbert Odhiambo Ouko, the late Barnabas Odek Ouko, the late Peter Okeyo Ouko, the late Michael Oluoch Ouko, the late Elisha Ouko, the late Joseph Otieno, Cleopa Oranyo and Joram Awino Kokindo. His Aunties are Jane Apiyo, Odek, Jane Auma Odek, Monica Ouko, Victoria Ouko, Janet Ouko (USA), Dorcus Ouko (USA), Grace Okeyo, Susan Achieng, Grace Juma and Mary Odhiambo. In-law to Mary, Sophy, Becky, Caroline, Ruth, Celestine, Eunice, Caroline Nasimiyu Ouko, Loraine, Elizabeth Kisia (Migori), Sarah Ogutu (Asembo). Grandchild to the late Alfred Ouko Achieng and Mama Ludia Awuor (Nyar Amba), the late Enos Ogal and Mama Esther Ogal.

The cortege will leave Aga Khan Universi Hospital Motuary on Thursday 6th August 2020 at 2.30pm for burial at Oyugis Town, Kamuma, Nyandiwa Village, Homabay County on Friday 7th August 2020.
