Dear Mother,

Your golden heart, smile, resilience, corrections, rebuke, teachings, wisdom reverberate in us always. You are here even now because of the time you took to talk to us endlessly, those seemingly ‘lectures’ have now become precious pearls of wisdom, worn around our necks, hearts and minds guiding us closer to God’s own heart.

Rest in peace mum. Here we are not resting, O000hh, it’s tough tough now: we’re running this race, working and more so working out our salvation with fear and trembling and one day we too shall rest. The words of your favourite hymn “How great thou art” give us strength.

Till we meet again at Jesus’ feet. Your loving daughters, Mumbi, Wanjiku, Wangari, Wambui.
