Dr. Perez Nyawanga Wenje

We regret to announce the passing on of Dr. perez Nyawanga Wenje at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital on 3rd November 2020, after a short illness. Until his untimely death, Dr. Wenje was the Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS) and Lecturer in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.

He was the beloved son of the late Assistant Chief Johnson Wenje Wambogo and the late Margaret Amollo Wenje of Rabare village, East Karungu Location in Migori County. Husband to Martabel Nyakiti Wenje of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST). Father to Junior Johnson Nyakiti Wenje and the late Wayne Wambogo Wenje. Stepson to Rachel Wenje, Joyce Ogara, Damarice Wenje, Margaret Nyakwana, (all the late), Jane wenje, Eunia Otieno, Dorina Ndiege, Hulda Otonda,Norah Obonyo and others.

His Uncles include Wilson Agwati, Benson Wanjira, Samuel Obonyo, Nelson Raute ,Tom Ojwang (all the late), Elijah Odhiambo, Jack Achola and James Otieno Wambogo. He was a brother to Peter Odero, Priscila, Ododo,Aoko, Velma, Clarice, Salmon, (all the late), Lucia, Dorina, Hellen, Okoth Kennedy, Ochieng, Henry, Adhiambo, Fina, Jecinter, Olga, Jane, Damarice, Jenifer, Caroline, John Ogollah, Johnson wenje, Omondi Kennedy and Shadrack Okuku. Cousin to Derrick, Julius, Johannes Okomo, Dickens, Samuel, Michael, Mzee Ncliege and others.

Uncle to Beryl, Mercy, Otis Peter, Joyce, Bella, Mary, Miriam, Terryan, Esther, Frank, Rebeccah, Dadi Kasuku, Shame, Fidel, Davies, Collins and others. Brother-in-law to Olga, Peres, Everlyne, Herenia, Lilian, Celestine, Beryl, Quinter, Eng. Amos Nyakiti, Argwengs Nyakiti, Eng. Gordon Nyakiti, Samson Nyakiti, C P A Philemon Nyakiti, Linnet Nyakiti Nancy Nyakiti, Emmah Nyakiti and Benter Nyakiti. Son-in-law to the late Johnson Nyakiti Amoko and Rizanael Nyakiti of Upper Kakwajuok, Kideswa Village.

The cortege leaves Star Annex Mortuary on Wednesday the 18th November 2020 at 9:30 am. The funeral service will be held at Rabare village, Karungu Division-Migori County on 19th November 2020. Presided over by Zion Seventh Day Adventist Church under Pastor Sospeter Sabaye of Got Koure District.
