Dr. Peter Miring’u Njenga

We honour and celebrate the life of Dr, Peter Miring’u Njenga, popularly known as Mwalimu, a man of great courage, determination and character. Until his demise, he was a lecturer at Kenyatta University, Department of Applied Economics.

He is the son of the late Dominic Njenga Mbugua (Njenga wa mbica) and Mary Wambui Njenga. Brother of Francis Kiroga, Micheal Mbui, George Kimunio, Paul Kagia and the late John Mbugua.

He was the husband of the late Lucy Wangui Miring’u and Rosemary Nyambura Miring’u. Peter was father of Dominic Njenga, Christine Wambui, Emmanuel Kariuki, Mark Kaguru and Christopher Njenga. Grandfather of Gael Chege and Peter Kendrick Miring’u.

He was the uncle of Francis Gachuri (Office of the Deputy President) and many others.

Friends and family are meeting daily at his home in Njika, Banana Hill (near Orthodox Church) for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home (Kahawa West) on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 9.00am. The Funeral Holy Mass will be held at St. Martin De Porres Karuri Catholic Church at 10.00am. Burial will be held at his home, Njikii, Banana Hill.
