Elder George Thuku Muchai

It is with profound sadness, and the humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the promotion to glory of Elder George Thuku Muchai, formerly of Kenya Breweries Limited, which occurred on 20th July, 2025 after a short illness.

George was the beloved husband of Lilian Nieri Thuku, formerly of Thika Law Courts. He was the loving father of Joseph Thuku, Esther Okoth, Pharis Thumbi and Wambui Thuku.

He was the son of the late Joseph Muchai Muniu and the late Esther Mumbi Muchai, the late Beth Wanjiku and Ruth Nieri.

George was the cherished father-in-law of Ruth Muchai, and George Okoth, and a dotting grandfather of Zayne, Yvan, Shani and Rarni.

George was the brother of Mary Kefa, Samuel Muniu, Jane Wamuita, Peter Wanderi, James Muniu, Peter Mwaura, Elder Patrick Muchai, Bishop John Kanyari, Pastor Julius Kamau, the late James Muniu, Jackson Thuo and seven sisters.

He was the son-in-law of the late Phares Thumbi Wambari, the late Beth Nyakihiu Thumbi, the late Margaret Wahu, and the late Mary Kanyi. He was a treasured brother-in-law of the family of Thumbi Wambari, a dotting uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a loving cousin to many.

Funeral meetings are happening every day at PCEA Zimmerman from 630PM.

There will be a memorial service on Sunday, 27th July, 2025 at 2:00PM at PCEA Zimmerman.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital on Tuesday, 29th July, 2025 at 7.00AM for interment at George’s farm in Gachoire Location, Lari.
