It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Elder Petro Nyamwaya Onyambu, which occurred on Saturday, 7th June 2025, through a tragic road accident.

Beloved husband of the late Tabitha Kwamboka Nyamwaya.

Son of the late Onyambu Mochere and the late Sarah Kemunto of Nyankoba Village, Nyamira County.

Son-in-law of the late Pastor Nathan Omambia and the late Bathsheba Omambia.

Cherished father of the late John Onyambu, Samuel Nyakundi (Kasarani), Mary Bonareri (Nyabisabo), Jennifer Anunda (Malindi), Isaac Nyagara (University of Eldoret), Doris Kemunto (Kakamega), Yucabeth Nyaboke (KIHBT), and Benard Opanga.

Brother of the late Opanga, the late Bosibori, the late Okenyuri, Nyandwaro, late Makori, late Manyisa and late Maisa among others.

Father-in-law of Mary, James, Hepsibah, Caxton, Beatrice, and Robinson.

Brother-in-law of the late Joseph, the late Nyaboke, Ogoi,Teresa, Elkana, David and Reuben Omambia.

Korera of the late Keana, Ochwang’i, the late Ong’aro, the late Tzuma, Ratemo and the late Muchika.

A loving grandfather of Harriet, Duncan, Eng. Ong’aro (CA), Stephy (NCBA), Lewa (Tawfiq Hosp), Ivy (CGTRH), Elvis (CGK), Mochere (Kilgoris TVC), Velbridgit (Brima’s Kitchen),Wendy (Huwawei), Carlos (SBSE) among others.

Uncle of Charles Nyameino, John Sanganyi, Jeff Omambia, the late Ken Ogoi, John Opanga, George Opanga, and many others.

There will be a fundraising meeting on Tuesday, 17th June 2025, at Maxwell SDA Church, opposite Integrity Centre, Nairobi, to support funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Hema Hospital Mortuary, Kisii, on Thursday, 19th June 2025 for burial on Friday, 20th June 2025, at his home in Nyankoba Village, Nyamira County.
