Elijah John Nyasaka

It is with great sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Former Councillor Elijah John Nyasaka of Bonyang’ande Village, Nyamache Sub County, Kisii County that occurred on Friday 22/03/2024 at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

He was husband of Sarah Nyamberi (Retired Teacher).

Son of the late Nyasaka Ongori and the late Elizabeth Mogunde. Step-son of the late Nyabeta and Kemunto. Son-in-law of Pastor Wilson Nyamberi and Hellenah Bisieri.

Father of Brian Mogaka (KQ), Violet Nyabonyi (Radio Waumini), Davis Nyakagwa (Kenya prisons) and Brenda Nyanchama. Father-in-law of Lesley Nkatha & Bramwel Opiyo.

Brother of the late Bilha Mong’ina, Daniel and Josephine Maranga, Benson and Esther Mochama, Paul and the late Milkah Nyaringita, Samson, Charles, John, Kennedy, Jeremiah, Kepha, Robert, Yobesh, Kemunto and Cecilia among others.

Brother in-law of the late Jeremiah Obang’i, Elijah, Hezron, Rebecca, David Mainya, Christine, Elizabeth, Joyce, Flora, Makori, Obangi, Micah and others.

Korera of Maingi, Eunice, Francis and Jacinta Alukwe. Cousin of Aukas, Onchiris, Buranas, Mwomas, Mogakas, Manyansis,Tumbos, Ndubis, Saboras Onsases, Mienchas, Makoris and Nyangitos.

Nephew of the late Mogaka, the late Manyansi, the late Sabora, the late Auka, Onchiri, Mwoma, the late Onsase, Burana, Daniel Nyang’echi, the late Moses Kiboma and Charles Magara. Uncle of Obiri, Rae) (USA), Robert (Nairobi), Lillian (Canada), Dr. Danson, Eng. Dismas, Joshua (USA), Eznah (Nairobi), Martin Mosiria, Josphat, Auta and Mellen.

Grandfather of Jewel, Taleh, Janelle and Creed.

Family and friends are meeting daily at both his Kisii and Nairobi-Sabaki homes for prayers.

There will be a fundraiser at Professional Center, Nairobi on 2/04/2024 from 5.00PM and at Nyamache and his Bonyang’ande home on 1/4/2024.

The cortege leaves Chiromo Funeral Home on 4/04/2024. Burial will be held on 5/04/2024 in his Bonyang’ande home, Nyamache Sub-County, Kisii County.
