Elijah Makau Ndunga

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Elijah Makau Ndunga, former Executive Officer of the Kenyan Judiciary, on 2nd February 2026.

Son of the late Luka Ndunga and Alice Kavenge, and husband of the late Anne Queen Makau Muiwa Mwendwa.
Father of Sola Nixon Muiwa, Annet Kavenge Makau, ohn Maluki Makau, and Jimmy Mbila Makau; father-in-law of Stephen Irungu Kamau, Felister Nzisa, Sylvia Wairimu Kinyua, and Agnes Kiboi. Grandfather of Bruce Kamau Irungu, Anthony Makau Irungu, Anthony Mwendwa, Michael Maluki, Alyse Neema, Ayrah Wangari, and Malika Wambui Maluki.

Brother of the late Daniel Muindi, the late Rabecca Syokau, Rael Twill, Elizabeth Mbithe, Peter Kithome, Maria Kalondu, Betina Ndunge, and Rhoda Katumbi.

Brother-in-law of the late Kivaya, the late Musembei, Kali Mulwa, Kitavi Mulwa, the late Safari Muiwa, Dr. Ngumbau Muiwa, Mbuli Moi, Mumbi Ng’ethe, and Mangole Muiwa. Uncle of Loise Mutete, Meshark Mbila, Joseph Muia, Stephen Mukithia, Rael Mbithe, Daniel Muindi, George Kithome, Arliss Kithome, Margaret Wavinya, Luka Mwanzia, Isaac Mavungo, Christine Syomiti, Stephen Ndunga, John Muema among others.

A pillar to his family, a beloved brother, a cherished uncle and friend to many, Elijah was a source of wisdom, joy, and kindness. His life reflected diligence, integrity, love, and patience. Interment will be on Saturday, 21st February 2026.

Daily funeral gatherings are held at 5:00 PM at his residence in Onyonka Estate, Langata.
