Elishiba Wanja Waithaka

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of Elishiba Wanja Waithaka that occurred on Sunday, 16/05/2021. She hails from Kanyenya-ini Village, Kangema in Murang’a County.

Daughter of the late Erastus Gatitu and the late Julia Wangari. Wife of the late John Waithaka Ruo Co-wife of the late Peris Wanjeri. Mother of James Ruo (Kanyenya-ini), Mary Kirika (St John Academy – Thika), Samuel Waithaka (Babaisha – Inooro Office -Thika), Mercy Waithaka (Kuraiha Sch – Juja), Lydia Gichuhi (Lay Leader ACK Kabati Fly Over Church also a Teacher at Bishop Njuguna Academy – Thika) and Charles Waithaka (Board Chairman – Micro & Small Enterprises Authority – MSEA).

Mother-in-law of Mwaniki Kirika (Thika), Lucy Wambui (USA), Beatrice Wanjeri, Peter Manda (Nairobi), Arthur James Gichuhi (Tana Water Works Development Agency – Nyeri), Susan Waithira and Mercy Muthoni. Step-mother and Aunt to many.

Sister of Beatrice Wanjiru, Samuel Macharia Gatitu (CEO – Small Trader Empowerment Fund – Murang’a), Jotham Karogo (Ngong), the late Joseph Wangoro, the late Beth Wanjeri, the late Virginia Gathanju, among others. Grandmother of John Waithaka (USA), Kirika (Kiambu County Government), Esther Mwaniki (CEO – Lapid Africa), Judy Mwaniki, Betty Gatitu, Sylvia Manda, John Mwangi, Fadhili John, among others. Great-grandmother to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at Cascade Premier – Thika and at her Kanyenya-ini home, starting at S 00pm, for prayers and funeral arrangements.

There will be a memorial service on Friday 21st May, 2021, at ACK St. Andrews Cathedral – Thika, starting at 2.00pm. The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home – Kabati on Wednesday, 26/05/2021, at 7.00am followed by a funeral service at ACK St. James Church – Kanyenya-ini, starting at 11.00am, thereafter, interment at her home in Kanyenya-ini Village, Kangema in Murang’a County.
