Emmanuel Patrick Kimani Gitau (Gichumbu)

It is with deep sorrow and the humble acceptance of God’s will that we sadly announce the death of our beloved Emmanuel Patrick Kimani Gitau (Gichumbu) of Kahawa Wendani and Kiamwangi Gatundu South which occurred on Friday 2nd October, 2020 at Kahawa Wendani.

Husband of the late Teresa Wanjiku Gitau. Son of the late Geoffrey Gitau Ndai (Gichumbu) and the late Mary Njoki Gichumbu. Step son of the late Margaret Gichumbu. Son-in-law of the late Solomon Kahohi and the late Hannah Kahohi. Father of Mary Ndegwa (MA, USA), Dr. Anne Kimani (PA, USA), Christine Kimani (PA, USA), Joan Kimani, and Fidelis Kimani both of Kahawa. Grandfather of Mitchelle Ndegwa, Jean Ndegwa, Jeremy Ndegwa, Ruthie Njagi, Kimani Kangethe, Ashley Wanjiku, Nicholas Kimani, Sofia Njoki, Jamaal Mohammed, Ismail Mohammed, Halima Mohammed, and Leyla Mohammed.

Brother of Elizabeth Wamaitha Kamau, the late Peter Ndai Gichumbu, and Fidelis Muthoni Kamau. Step-brother of Wambui Kamau, Wamaitha Kimani, Mwende Gachoka, Wangui Njoroge, Wanjiru Njoroge, Ndai Gichumbu, Ng’ang’a Gichumbu and Mary Wairimu. Brother-in-law of Muthama Kahohi, Mary Kahohi, Sarah Muthama, Kahengeri Kahohi, Muthoni Kahohi, Mugure Ng’ang’a, the late Wahito Kahohi, Njigi Kahohi, and Ng’ang’a Kahohi.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily from 5:30pm at their Kahawa Wendani home for prayers and burial arrangements.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home (KU Referral Hospital) at 7.00am on Thursday, 15th October 2020 for Requiem Mass at St, Joseph Catholic Church, Kahawa Sukari at 9.00am and thereafter for burial at the family farm in Kiamwangi, Gatundu South.
