Ernest George Bunyassi

January 26th 1943 – March 12th 2018

It is with-humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Ernest George Bunyassi on 12th March 2018. He hailed from Kisoko Nambale, Busia. He was formerly MD of Kenya National Trading Corporation, General Manager of Agricultural Development Corporation and General Manager-Administration of Kenya National Assurance.

Son of the late Luka Edewa Oidare and the late Paulina Ajwang of Kisoko, Nambale and Son in law of the late Musa Lundu and the late Salome Luvai Lundu ofVihiga County. Loving husband of Rose Vugutsa Bunyassi, beloved father of Patrick Oidare, Una Bunyassi (Ministry of Lands), Dr. Lillian Bunyassi-Asuga. Edward Narotso Bunyassi (Philadephia, USA) Catherine Bunyassi- Kahuria (OAG &DOJ), and the late Christopher Lundu Bunyassi (Lexington,Kentucky). Father in Law of Pamela Ongokho Miruni Kulundu, Evans Asuga Ongicho Advocate and Colonel Paul Kahuria Njema (KDF). Doting grandfather of Michael Agulu, Sharon Pauline, Nancy, Luka, Edwin, Lamas, Dennis, Paul, Emmanuel Asuga, Amani Bunyassi, Esther Wanjiku, Jamie Ernest, Felicia Karen and Jonathan Paul, Marilyn, Franklin and Jackie Juma among others. A great grandfather of many.

Brother of Josephine Ogut, the late Chief Alex Okello Edema, Wilfreda Nawinyi Mzee, Christine Edema Inisaca and Helen Edema. In-law of Albert Ogut, Flora Atsieno, Margaret Ndevera, Keziah Andeka, Lena Musozi, Isaiah Lundu , Elizabeth Anyira, Janet Imbwaga and Levi Lundu. Cousin of Hon. Senator Amos S.Wako EGH, Hon. John Sakwa Bunyasi MP Nambale, Hon. Chrysantus Okemo, retired ACP Elias Oduori, Sylvester Andera King, Barnabas Nyadawa, retired DCP Leo Ijora Nyongesa, Linus Mbalwe, Augustine Kwedho, Chrispinus Ongonna, among others. Uncle of Eng. Petronilla Ogut (CEO, Lake Victora South Water Services Board) and Dr. Eng. John Mativo (KETRACO), Eng. Christine Ogut (Technical University) and Hon. A major fundraising to offset hospital bills and funeral expenses has been scheduled for today, Monday 19th March 2018 at United Kenya Club at 5.00 p.m. All are welcome. Viewing of the body will be from 8.00 am on Thursday, 22nd March 2018 at Lee Funeral Home. The cortege will leave thereafter for a requiem mass at St. Austin’s Catholic Church, Lavington, Nairobi commencing at 10.00 am.

Funeral arrangements are taking place at the family home in Nairobi and Kisoko, Nambale.

Burial will be at the family home on – Saturday 24th March 2018 at 10.00 a.m Kisoko Nambale, Busia County. Guests are requested to be seated by 9.00.am.
