I worked with Evelyn from 2001 until mid-2004, when she worked with CEAS (an ecumenical organisation serving South Sudan) in Nairobi.
We kept in touch for a few years after my departure from the organisation, and indeed, after her transfer to Cannon Group, but eventually lost touch with each other, as I continued my career path around Africa, in Sudan, South Sudan and Sierra Leone, amongst other duty stations.
I learned of Evelyn’s recent passing, one might say by accident, but it might also be said, by some sixth sense of clairvoyance, as I suddenly felt compelled to search for her on the internet, only to learn this truly shocking news that she recently passed on.
I will always remember Evelyn as an incredibly talented and dynamic office manager, and as one of the nicest, sweetest people I have ever met. To her family and friends, my sincere condolences. I am sorry for your loss.
Taken too soon Evelyn, but enjoy your rest, because if there is a heaven, I have no doubts that is where you are.
