Son of the late Mr and Mrs John Madung Odanga of Unyir Ukwala, Siaya. Husband of Pamela Andia Ochieng of Baraka Primary School. Son-in-law of the late Shem Lung’aho and Esther Andisi Lung’aho of Mutzazi,Vihiga. Father of Sharon Afandi Rono (InfounActior), Mariana Ochieng (Strathmore University), John Odanga (South Korea) and Emma Ochieng (Kianda School). Father-in-law of Franklin Rono. Brother of Rose Nyakwaka (Canada), Wilfred Madung (Equitech), Angeline Okeyo, Michael Madung, Susan Madung, Florence Madung and Eric Madung (USA).
