George Wakwaya

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of George Wakwaya on the 28th of July 2018 at Oasis Hospital, Kisumu after a short illness.

Son of the late Mzee Joash Odum Odongo and the late Mama Joyce Auma Odum of Seme Kobita Ngere. Stepson of mama Jane Auma Odum. Son-in-law of Mzee Samuel and Naomi Okongo of Sakwa. Husband of Mama Jeniffer Wakwaya. Father of Kennedy, Collins, Joyce, Kevin, Diana, Brenda andeta’A Michelle. Father-in-law of Rita Asekenye from Kachumbala, Uganda and Nyawana of Dr. Sam Omagor and Beatrice Yogo of Kachumbala Uganda. Grandfather of Trina, Nadia, Eliana and Samuel.

He was the brother of Simon Peter Odhiambo, Mrs. Dorcas Matinde, the late Mary Martha Ombega, Mrs. Truphosa Ochuka, Mrs. Hannah Odongo, Dr. Akinyi-Owino, Joyce Achieng, Victor Odum, Crisfin Odum and Douglas Odum. Brother-in-law of The late mama Monica Odhiambo, the Late Lawrence Matinde, William Ombega, Enos Ochuka. the Late John Odongo and Prof. Willis Owino-Ong’or. Uncle of the Odhiambos, Matindes, Ombegas, Ochukas, Odongos and Owino-Ong’ors.

The cortege leaves Agha Khan Hospital Mortuary, Kisumu on Friday 10th August for a funeral service at his Migosi home.

Burial will take place on Saturday 1th August 2018 at his Rural home in Seme Kobita, Ngere starting at 10a.m.
