GRACE GACHEKE MWAI MATHENGE

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Grace Gacheke Mwai who passed away on Jan 11th 2019.

She was the daughter of the late Jesse Kiromo Rienye and the late Susan Nyawira Kiromo. She was the loving wife to the late Provincial Commissioner & Member of Parliament Hon. Isaiah Mwai Mathenge. Mother to Wangui & Ngengi Muigai, Jimmy & Wanjiku Mathenge, Late Peter Mathenge, Late John Mathenge, Sue & Alois Nderi, Irene & Ernest Sando, Maggie & Kinyua M’Mbijjewe. Grandmother to Toki Muigai, Mwai & Gwen Muigai, TM Muigai, Ceke & Nimu Mathenge, Keru & Bochi Nderi, Takunda Sando, Shingi & Kenrick Simon, Munene & Mwai M’Mbijjewe. She was the great grandmother of Kiyana Wairimu Simon, Isaiah Ngengi & NolanToki Mwai.

Sister to Late Mubia Kiromo, Late Njeri Waruru, Wahito King’ori, Late Eunice Gachoki, Margaret Kiromo, Janet Warui, Wangari Wachira, Late Patrick Nderitu, David Nyika, Late Mikey Gatemi, Shiphrah Wahito Fehr Muriithi & Mercy Muthoni. Sister in Law to Sarah Kange, Elizabeth Gacheche, Njogu Mathenge, Late Mary Waruingi, Anna Ngure, Late Gathoni Mwaura, Late Kabukuru Mathenge, Late Bilha Muchangi, Late Miriam Ichangi, Late Simon Nyaga Late Marathi Mathenge, Njeri Mubia, Late Hon Waruru Kanja, Late King’ori Gathitu, James Warui, Major Wachira, Miriam Nderitu, Jedidah Nyika, Norah Gatemi & Nancy Muriithi.

Family and friends are meeting for prayers at St Austins (St. Mary’s School), Nairobi on Tuesday Jan 15th, Wednesday Jan 16th from 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm.

There will be a memorial service on Thursday, Jan 17th, at 11.30 am at St Austin’s Church, Nairobi.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home at 7.30 am on Friday Jan 18th, 2019 for a private graveside service at her home in Nyeri.
