It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we share the news of the passing of Hannah Mwihaki Chege on 03rd June, 2025.

Cherished wife of Peter Njagi Mathagu. A loving mother of Edwin Muriithi Njagi and Wanjiku Muriithi, and Alex Chege.

She was the daughter of the late Bernard Chege and the late Eddah Wanjiru Chege, and a daughter-in-law of the late Walter Mathagu and Abishagi Mathagu.

Sister of the late Rose Njambi, John Kimani, the late Peter Karongo, James Waithaka, David Kamau, Joseph Matheri, Samuel Gitau and Joyce Mukami.

Sister-in-law of Fred Gitari and Nancy Njoki, Patrick Muchira and the late Teresa Muchira, Jason Muchiri and Joyceline Muchiri, Johnstone Maina and Anne Maina, Sam Wanyoike, and the late Florence Wanyoike, the late Geoffrey Muriithi, Ruth Karongo, Njeri Waithaka, Anne Warungu Karnau, Leah Matheri, Lucy Nyambura Gitau, and Moses Kongo.

A proud grandmother of Ryan Njagi Muriithi, Ivy Mwihaki Muriithi and Abby Wangu Murithii Family and friends are gathering for prayers and funeral arrangements at A.C.K St Thomas Cathedral Kerugoya, starting at 5:00 PM.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at A.C.K St Thomas Cathedral Kerugoya from 10:00 am, followed by burial at her home in Kathunguri, Kirinyaga County.
