Hannah Waithira Mwai

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hannah Waithira Mwai, of Komothai, Githunguri Constituency, Kiambu County, which occurred on 19th January, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.

Wife of the late Alfred Mwai Kariuki of Mukuyu Market, Kiharu Constituency, Muranga County. Daughter-in-law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kariuki Ngenye; and mother of Mark Kariuki Mwai and Samuel Gicho Mwai. Sister-in-law of Mrs, Millicent Kieme and the late James Kieme; Hon. Ngenye Kariuki and Lois Ngenye; the late Papetuah Gichohi; the late Eliud Wambu and Leah Wagacha; Evangeline Wangari Kariuki; Mrs. Sarah Gathaara and Gideon Gathaara; and Joyce Wambui Kariuki. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Laban Gicho Waweru of Komothai, Githunguri constituency, Kiambu county.

Sister of Reuben Waweru and Esther Wanjiru; the late Virginia Njeri and the late Joseph Mungai; Moses Githiri and Margaret Muthoni;l Andrew Wanyutu and Miriam Waceera; Jane wanjiku and Bonface Muriithi Kihungi; Solomon Muthaka and Nancy Muthoni; Lilian Wairimu and George Njoroge Gichia; Annie Wanjiru Karanja and Job Karanja Kimani; Margaret Wanjiru and Ndung’u Mutungi; Elijah Mbugua and Rose Njambi Mbugua. She had many nephews and nieces, as well as grandchildren.

Relatives and friends will be meeting at St. Andrews Church Nairobi, on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd January 2020, from 5pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Mortuary on Friday 24th January at 8:00AM for the funeral service at CITAM Clay City, along Thika Superhighway, followed by burial at Mukuyu Market, Kiharu constituency near Murang’a town.
