It is with deep sorrow that we announce promotion to glory of the former MCA of Chemelil/Tamu Ward, Kisumu County; Hon. Maureen Opondo Otiang’, which occurred on 10/12/2022.

Wife to Eng. James Otiang’ Okoth. Daughter of the late Douglas Claudio Opondo Ngoya and Cllr. Kezia Akeyo Opondo. Mother of Dr. Dan Owino Okoth, Ethel Valerie Atieno, Ginabell Otiang’ and Ricky Sommervel Otiang’. Mother-in-law to Jemima Nduta Mukuhi. Grandmother to Ari Johan Otiang’ and Alek Javier Otiang’.

Sister to the late Benta Opondo, the late Snr. Chief Nicholas Opondo, Betty Mboga, John Otieno, Janet Ochieng’, June Oluoch, Zipporah (Shama), Fred Opondo, Penina Opondo and Elizabeth Opondo.

Sister-in-law to Pius, Justus, Washington, Jacob, Robert, Dorothy, Rose, Rael, Ruth, Risperr, Everline and Tabitha of the Okoth’s family.

Meetings are held daily at her Ngong home.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Referral Hospital Funeral Home – Nairobi on 22/12/2022 at 7:00am for funeral service at AIC – Millimani, from 10:00am and separate funeral service on 23/12/2022 at AIC – Daraja Mbili in Kopere at 11:00am. Thereafter the burial service will be held on 24/12/2022, from 8.00am at her family home in Kopere in Kisumu County.

Hon. Maureen, you will be dearly missed.
