Ignatius Loyola Obwaku

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our Patriarch Ignatpy, occurred on June 3rd 2025. Son of the late Thomas Obwaku and the late Mama Christine lyaya(Nagara).

Beloved husband of the late Jacinta Akelo Obwaku and Mama Ursula Agola Amolo Obwaku. A great and adorable father of Christine, Everline, Janerose, Clement, Salome, Tom, Michael, Winnie Pauline, Govan,Vyett, Ivy and Eddy.

Loving brother of the late Cornel Otwane, the late Clement Obwaku, the late Lucas Obwaku, the late Fulgeria Atyang and Hellen Obwaku, Sylvester, Simon, Louis, John and Celestine Papa of Mary, the late Igeno, Pamela, Josephine, the late Ursula, Consolata, the late Assumpta, Andrew, Aquinas, Robert, Christine, Joachim, CIMO and Tom.

Uncle of Nelly, Neryl, Andrew,Virginia, Emily,Victor, Mactilda, Teresa, Rhoda, Stephen, Judith, Edwin, Cynthia, Franklin, Major Kelvin, Hellen, Dr Tony, Linda among others.

Mzee was son in-law of Mama Anna Opalakadi of Chakol and the late Mama Helena Akelo and the late Andrea Amolo of Lwanya Matayos. Brother-in-law of the late Kevina Amai, Kevina lkwii, the late Lucy Obwaku, the late Bena Ajwang, Joseph Okware, Anthony Opalakadi, Maurice Okisegere. George Amollo, the late Jessica Papa, Jacinta Oleso, the late Joseph Amolo and the late Charles Mbingi.

Doting grandfather of Mitchelle Cheryl, Chloe Danika, Becca, Loyola Jnr, Keylart, Karen, Kelly, Jacy, Harry, Catherine,Vicky, Rihanna, Shina, Andrew, among others.

Beloved Father in-law of Diana Bosibori. Dr Mbati, Tom Opondo, Peter Mufoyongo, among others.

Basakwa of David Papa In the lkaruok clan. Ignatius is survived by several cousin brothers to name but a few Prof Martin Etyang, Dan Oramisi, George Ikwara, Maj Rtd Paul Nyongesa, Beda Esau, Joseph Okware among others.

Prayers and Funeral Arrangements are being held at his home in Apokor Village, Amukura, Teso Central, Busia County.

There will be a Fundraiser to offset outstanding Medical bills and Funeral Associated Costs at United Kenya Club on 12th June 2025. All are welcome

Memorial Service will be held on Friday 20th June at his Akobwait home, thereafter procession to  Apokor for overnight stay. Mass and Interment will be on Saturday 21st June at his Apokor Home.
