John Githinji Mathenge (Wa Mathenge)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mr. John Githinji Mathenge of Ndunyu Village, Kamoko Sublocation, Mahiga Ward, Othaya on 12th November 2025 after a short illness.

Beloved husband of the late Esther VVambui Githinji. Loving father of Antony Mathenge, Mary Wathuti, James Githaiga and Pauline Wangari.

Son of the late Mathenge Githaiga and the late Wathuti Mathenge. He was a. brother of the late Githaiga Mathenge, Theuri Mathenge, Wambui Mathenge and Wanyua Kiragu.

He was a cherished grandfather of Lenny, Travis, Shirleen, Nimrod, Claire, Esther, Amos, Dorcas and Ethan.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his rural home in Kamoko, for prayers and burial preparations from 4.00 p.m. The cortege leaves Mathari Mission Hospital – Nyeri on Thursday, 20th November 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

The burial service will be held at PCEA Happy Church Ndunyu from 11.00 a.m followed interment at his home in Ndunyu, Mahiga Ward, Othaya.
