John Mungai Miring’u (John Big)

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of John Mungai Miring’u (John Big – Saitoti) after a short Illness on 10th November 2025.

He was the beloved son of the late Francis Miring’u Mungai & the late Ruth Wanjiru Mungai.

Loving and devoted husband of Ann Mukuhi Mungai. Doting father of Lynn Wanjiru Mungai and Francis Miring’u Mungai. Devoted step – father of Abigail Cherotich and Samuel Kipkoech.

Beloved and cherished brother of Charles Ng’ang’a Miring’u (Charlie), Jane Waithera Mungai and Grace Njoki Githinji.

He was a dear brother-in-law of Richard Githinji Njoroge, Steve Wambugu, Francis Ngare, the late Esther Nyokabi, Tabitha Mokaya and Peter Ndegwa.

Doting grandfather of Makena Wairimu Ng’arua and proud Uncle of Bryan Ngochi, Joanne Miringu, Trevor Githinji, Nicole Githinji, Brandon Githinji & Sharon Wanjiru.

He was an adored nephew, cousin and uncle of the Mungai Kabage Family of Kiambaa and the Ng’ang’a family of Ndenderu. A friend to many and an alumni of the Nairobi School the ‘Old Cambrians’.

Family and Friends are meeting daily for Prayers and burial arrangements at their home in Ngei Estate Phase 2, Maboko Crescent in Lang’ata from 4.00pm.

His final journey and interment will be announced soon.

May God grant his soul eternal peace until we meet again.
