It is with humble acceptance and gratitude to God that we announce the passing on of our beloved father, Elder, Mentor, John Okeari on 31st May, 2019.

Loving husband of Yunuke Genchabe. Father of Samson Mabeya (formerly of KCC), David Ogega (Jubilee Insurance), Esther Moraa Onduso, Jerusha Nyarangi Ondeyo, Charles Makori, Simon Nyambutora (Nyabine Primary) and Josephine Nyabiage (Murang’a Hospital). Brother of Zacharia Ondara, Josiah Miruka, Nyaminsa Otondo, Kerubo Onditi, James Onderi, the late Nyaoga, the late Keire, the late Aching’a, the late Onsase and the late Obung’u. Cousin of Nyaboga Ondabu, the late Henry Nyamwamu, the late John Ondabu, the late Onduso.

Father-in-law of Onduso Nyagwaya (Magena Sec), Ondeyo Nyandieka (Rigoko Sec), Simon Njoroge (Businessman Thika), Gladys Mabeya, Dorothy Ogega (MoE), Gladys Nyambutora. In-law of the late Ogentoto Nyariki, the late Nyoero Motonu, the late Nyariki, Onchera, Hellen Ongori, Mochire, Robina, Hellen, Ondieki among others. Korera of Ong’era Nyatera, the late Ishmael Ondieki, Rebecca Nyagwaya, Mary Nyandieka, Miroro Masese and Wambui Chege.

Grandfather of Nancy Nyaboke, Christine Nyatichi, Rapheal Ombui, Rael Ondeyo, Emmanuel Manani, Philis Nyatichi, Sharon Wambui, Andrew Ayaga (Maji Mazuri Sec) and others. Uncle of the late Ayaga, Henry Nyabuto, the late Evans Miruka, Simon Onderi, Onderi Keire, Ontegi Onsase, Onderi Nyaoga and the late Onsongo Otondo.

Funeral arrangements are ongoing. Friends and relatives are meeting for prayers at David Ogega Okeari’s residence at Laiser Hill Ongata Rongai and at Igembe Village.

The cortege will leave Hema Hospital Mortuary on Monday 10th June to be laid to rest on Tuesday 11th June at his home at Igembe village, Ritembu Location, Kisii County.
