John R Karanja Karungu

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that the Karanja Karungu family announces the death of its Patriarch, John R Karanja Karungu of Ridgeways Springs, Nairobi. He hailed from Gwa Gatimu Village-Kirangi, Karatu Sub Location, Gatundu South, Kiambu County.

Husband of Margaret Njoki Karanja, great father of Kelvin Karungu, Ngina & Wagema and Wamaitha Wamz! Loving and present Guka of Erica Njoki, Gathigia Wagema, Keith Karanja, Karanja Wagema, Kaylan Karanja, Kalya Wagema, Olivia Njoki and Nina Wangechi; among many others. Great grandfather of many.

Son of the late Charles Karungu Karanja and the late MaryWamaitha, the late Jemimah Muthoni and the late Naomi Wanjiku Karungu. Loving brother of Agatha Njambi & Jonah Kariuki (Naivasha), Patrick Waruiru, Dr. Peter & Babani Karungu (SA), Agnes Wambui & the late David & Alice Mukui Karungu. Loving brother of Michael Karanja Karungu (Gwa Gatimu), the late Eng. Zachary Karungu, Joe Samson Karanja, the late Stephen Thuku Mung’ara (STEM) and all the Karungus of Gwa Gatimu Village-Kirangi.

Son-in-law of the late Raphael & Marata Wagema Ruitha of Kaheti Village, Mukurweni. Brother-in-law of Ruitha Constant, Agasta Mwihaki, Ruitha John (all late) Simon Mathenge, Susan Matharu, Esther Miano, Joe Gachiri, Mary Wanjiku (UK), Alice Dada Karanja & Jane Johnson (USA). Muthoni-wa of the Wagema’s.

Family and friends are meeting at his Ridgeways Springs home, off Kiambu Road for prayers from Thursday, 11th to Sunday 14th April from 5:30pm.

Requiem Mass will be held on Friday, 12th April at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Ridgeways, Kiambu Road at 2:30pm.

The cortege leaves AAR Hospital, Kiambu Road on Monday, 15th April at 7am for funeral mass at his Gwa Gatimu home, Kirangi Village, Karatu Sub Location,Gatundu South at 10am.
