We, the family of Joseph Mukwe Mateba wish to most sincerely convey our deepest and heartfelt appreciation to institutions, colleagues, relatives, friends, neighbours and Kenyans of goodwill for their overwhelming love, prayers, condolences, material and financial support during the celebration of the life of Msanii. The support that we received was humbling, amazing and this enabled us to remain strong during those trying moments.

Our special appreciation goes to the State Department for Interior and Citizen Services and Kakamega County General, Teaching and Referral Hospital for their understanding and immeasurable support. We extend our acknowledgement to the invaluable medical support received from all chose who worked tirelessly in various hospitals to give Msanii the best medical treatment and care during the entire period of his sickness. Special gratitude to Dr. Githaiga, Dr. Mohammed Munyendo, Dr. Steve Biko, Dr. Daniel Alusula, Dr. Eric Anyira, Dr. Dismus Akenga, Dr. Kennedy Masika, Dr. Aimable, Dr. Michael Chitayi, Dr. Collins Makana, Mr. Moses Arthur Khasimwa, Mr. Peter Shitoshe, Mr. Robert Bateta and Mr. Daniel Mateba.

We are grateful to the Hon. Members of the National Assembly and Members of County Assembly who supported and found time to personally condole with us. Our sincere thanks to Harvest Land Ministries led by His Lordship Bishop Dr. William Ouma and Bishop Abraham Omanyo, Overseer Sylvester Masakhwe of Mahola Harvest Miracle Church, Pastor Noah Kweyu of Eshiasuna Pefa Church,Apostles David Kweyu and Sammy Opingo, Pastors Collins Ayiro and Meshack Nyamita. Special thanks go to the many who created time and joined us to pay their final respects to Mzee at Mahola. As a family we will be greatly indebted.

Msanii, you were the cornerstone of the family and your immense love to us will be forever cherished. As a patriarch, your wisdom, counsel, humour and sweet memories remain fresh in our minds. It is not easy to accept the outcome but with the promise of eternal life, we are hopeful of meeting again in future. May the Good Lord grant you entrance to the Golden Gates of Heaven. You will eternally be missed by Mama Melisa Akumu Kumbe Mukwe, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, in-laws, uncles, aunties, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and neighbours.
