Joseph Nyongesa Weloba

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Joseph Nyongesa Weloba. This occurred on the evening of Thursday, 12th June, 2025 at Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi after a short illness.

Joseph was the Chief Executive Officer (Nisomar), husband of Irene Mbogho (Kenya Ports Authority), and father to Archie Weloba (KSL), Andrew Weloba (JKUAT), and Amy Weloba (Nova Pioneer Tam Girls).

He was the son of the late Jason Weloba and the late Bernadette Weloba and son-in-law of the late Archie Winston Mbogho, and Mama Valerie Mbogho.

He was brother of Francis Weloba (KPLC), Job Weloba (Cootow & Associates), Mark Weloba (CDF-Bumula County), Paul Weloba (Principal Friends School Kamusinga), Christine Weloba (Felicity Academy), Caro Muttai (Rova Sports Academy), Daniel Weloba (CutEdge Concepts), Solomon Weloba (Cootow & Associates), and Esther Weloba (Cardinal Otunga Girls).

He was also brother-in-law of Gaylyn & David Anabella, Doreen & Arthur Karanja, Kimusi Mbogho, Canon Joseph & Stella Mcharo, Timothy & Prisca Washala, Brenda Weloba, Maureen Weloba, Lilian Weloba, Caro Gatwiri Weloba and Nick Muttai.

Joseph was a nephew of Drs David & Florencia Kapanga, and many more who held a very special place in his heart.

He was a close cousin of Dr. Ruth Kapanga. Dr. Esperancia Kapanga, Joy Kapanga, among many more.

Joseph was a special uncle of Florence Evelyn Wambugha and many other nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him.

Family and friends will be meeting at All Saints’ Cathedral (Nairobi) and Missions to Seamen (Mombasa) from 5:30 PM to 7.00 PM, from Monday, 16th June, 2025 to Thursday, 19th June, 2025.

There will be two requiem services on Tuesday 17th at Crossroads Church Nyali from 6.00pm and on Thursday 19th June 2025 at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi at 12:00 PM.
