Josiah Gicuki Mucungi

It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Mr Josiah Gicuki Mucungi of Tarek & Light Ltd which occurred on Tuesday 15th July, 2025 in Membley Estate after a short illness. He was a director of Tarek & Light Co. Ltd.

He was beloved husband of Mary VVagaki Gicuki, father of the late Olivia Wanjira, Timothy Mucungi Gicuki and Faith Wanjira Gicuki.

He was son of the late Timothy Muchungi Gichuki and the late Janet Wanjira Muchungi, brother of Joyce Wakiuru & the late Gideon Waruiru Muiga, Rose Wathika & Simon Mathengc VVagema, Rtd Elder Alice Nyambura & Edward Ngugi Kairo, Perk Wanjiku, Livingstone Gitonga & Rachel Kahuki Gitonga, Lilian Theru & William Ngara Mwangi and the late Wilson Kibuthu & Elder Florence Kibuthu.

Son in-law of the late Kiburi Muchemi & Foiby VVangeshi Kiburi, brother in-law of Julia Nyakinyua, Joseph Muchemi Kiburi, Elizabeth Muthoni, late James Ndiritu Kiburi and Zelipha Wamahiga Macharia.

He was beloved uncle and grandfather to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Membley Estate, Forest Court House no 31.

The cortege leaves KU Referral Hospital Funeral Home (Northern Bypass) on Thursday 24th Jury 2025 at 7,00arn. Funeral service will take place on the same day at his home in Gatura Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri County, starting 10.30am and burial at the same place in the afternoon.
