Josiah Gicuki Mucungi

It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Mr. Josiah Gicuki Mucungi of Talek and Light Co. Ltd which occurred on Tuesday 15th July, 2025 in Membley Estate after a short illness. He was a director of Talek and Light Co. Ltd.

He was beloved husband of Mary Wagaki Gicuki, father of the late Olivia Wanjira, Timothy Mucungi Gicuki and Faith Wanjira Gicuki.

He was son of the late Timothy Muchungi Gichuki and the late Janet Wanjira Muchungi, brother of Rtd Elder Alice Nyambura & Edward Ngugi Kairo, Peris Wanjiku, Livingstone Gitonga& Rachel Kahuki Gitonga, Lilian Theru & William Ngara Mwangi and the late Wilson Kibuthu & Elder Florence Kibuthu.

Son in-law of the late Kimburi Muchemi & Phoebe Wangeshi Kimburi, brother in-law of Julia Nyakinyua Ngari, Joseph Muchemi Kimburi, Elizabeth Muthoni Mwangi, the late James Ndiritu Kimburi and Rtd Elder Zelipha Wamahiga Macharia.

He was beloved uncle and grandfather to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Membley Estate, Forest Court.
The cortege leaves KU Referral Hospital funeral Home (Northern Bypass) on Thursday 24th July 2025 at 7.00am. Funeral service will take place on the same day at his home in Gatura Village, Mukurweini, Nyeri County at 10.30 am and burial at the same place in the afternoon.
