Joyce Clara Odemba Onyango

It is with heavy hearts and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Mrs. Joyce Clara Odemba Onyango (formerly of Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and National Environment Management Authority), which occurred on the night of Tuesday, 12th March 2024.

Daughter of the late Mzee Walter Ogara and the late Mama Teresa Ogara of Sakwa, Awendo, Migori County. Daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Christopher Ongeche and the late Anna Ongeche.

Wife of the late Advocate Richard Onyango Ongeche of Alego, Nyadhi. Mother of the late Judith, Emily, Walter, the late Tony, Eng. Grace, Captain Philip, Audrey, Hellen, Linda, Anna, Amanda and Adelle. Adoring grandmother of Shawn, Sospeter, Allan, Melanie,Tawana, Lloyd, Ariel, Havvi, Joanna, Joy, Baraka and Liam. Mother-in-law of Benedict Aolo, Edwin Japaso,Vivianne Odhiambo, Eva Odongo and Nashon Kimwa.

Sister of the late Millicent Obaso, the late Margaret Odindo, Prof. William Ogara, Rev. Samuel Ojode, Rev. Beatrice Othieno. Sylvia Ogutu, the late George Odongo, the late James Awange and Rubina Adhiambo.

Sister-in-law of Lay Canon Joyce Achieng’, Roseline Ongeche, George Ongeche, Mary Ongeche, Seline Onyango, Alice Ochieng, Dr. Maurice’ Odindo, Dr. Esther Ogara, Prof. Lucy Ojode, Prof. Herick Othieno, Lay Canon Joseph Ogutu, the late Risper Odongo, Joyce Awange, and Sixtus Odumbe.

She was a devoted daughter and member of the wider Kojode Family and a devoted aunt and beloved friend to many.

A Fundraising will be held on 20th March 2024 at All Saints Cathedral from 5.00pm – 8.00pm.
